Is the B12 a hard starter?

Start my 05 B12 on half choke with just a little throttle.  If I don't use the throttle it is a little hard to start.  Wait for about 10 sec before I release the throttle.  By the time I have put on riding gear, bike has normally increased revs on choke and is ready to roll.  Ride it easy for first couple of miles to make sure its fully warmed.
Taken over by the dark side. Now riding a CB 1300 but visit my old bandit regular.

Fake, my '05 has just under 2K on it and I stongly recommend that you hold off on any "improvements" until after your 600 mile break-in adjustments. The difference in mine before and after were eye opening, it was as if I got back a whole new bike.

My 05 B12 is much less cold blooded than my 01 B12.  It could be that elevation differences might make a difference in how other 05 B12's do on start up?  Although my 05 is less cold blooded, the 01 bandit would rev higher and keep those revs while cold on choke.  My 05 seems less affected by the choke.  My 01 would cough and sputter for a couple miles till it warmed up good, not so with the 05;  It's ready to go immediately.
