Holeshot monster finally DONE!
« on: March 25, 2009, 02:04:58 PM »
Hey all,
I havent posted up in awhile and thought I'd share my beast now that its finally done.  :bigok:
Somehow fixing the 2001 oil burning issue became this lol. Started out as a silver 1200S as seen in my avatar. lots of cracks/dents.

The motor has about 50 miles on it. I broke it in on a dyno and made sure that it is running strong and proper. A stock bandit puts out 100hp and 70tq. With only 20 miles on it, this put out 130hp and 90tq uncorrected. 75 of that torque is available at 3k rpm. This bike pulls HARD EVERYWHERE.

Engine:

Holeshot Big bore kit (1216cc)
JE forged pistons
Holeshot street/strip headwork
Full Dyna2000 Digital Ignition setup
Holeshot Stage 2 jet kit
Removed the airbox. Has K&N pod filters
Holeshot Intake cam
Holeshot full Comp2 Exhaust
Holeshot top-end oiling kit
APE cam chain tensioner
Clutch replaced with a fabbed-to-fit GSXR1100 clutch to handle the extra power
Pistons have the tri-coat treatment from Performance Coatings
Entire engine was blasted and recoated with a Thermal Dispersant ceramic coat by Performance Coatings
Exhaust was blasted and recoated flat black by Performance Coatings

On top of all the add-ons, EVERY bearing/seal/gasket in the entire bike has been replaced with brand new.

Chassis:

-Frame was shaved of all unnecessary tabs (rear peg holders, etc)
-Front end replaced with the forks/wheel/brakes of a 2002 Hayabusa (USD forks =win)
-Rear shock replaced with one from a Honda RC51

Both front and rear suspension have been resprung for my size
Vortex Sprockets
DID chain
Custom fabricated mount for a 'busa steering damper
Relocated the battery to open up the area under the seat, Battery is a sealed R1 battery
Powdercoated EVERYTHING black
Hayabusa clip-ons were replaced with an LSL superbike handlebar conversion
SS brake lines front and rear
Aftermarket Koso GP style tach
Aftermarket dual 4" headlights
Pazzo shorty levers
Gilles rearsets
New paint
Aftermarket undertail
Aftermarket hugger
GSXR1000 front fender
Solo seat with Cowl
Grabrail removal kit (had to import from the UK)
Smoked Flushmount front blinkers
CRG Blindsight bar-end mirrors

Has a 'digital guarddawg' keyless ignition. Will not start unless you are standing next to it. Same RFID used in

Mercedes/Corvettes etc.

Someday we'll look back on all this and plow into a parked car.

love it
how do you like your headlight? If yes where did you get them from? Ive seen similar ones on several websites but am never sure if they would be bright enough since I actually do a lot of night riding.
The front fender off the GSXR 1100 seems to only attach by one bolt? Don't meant to hassle you just currently going through the decision process of what fender to use.
again awesome bike, great job  :bigok:

I havent had a chance to ride it in total darkness yet. Ill let you know :)
As for the front fender, its held on by 2 bolts, but isnt the best fit. Im tempted to follow the guy who posted up how he fit an '06 gixx6 fender to his busa forks. Have to trim both and make brackets but the finished look is alot cleaner.

What a monster!  Nice job!

Those look like the same lights I had on my B4.  I didn't do a lot of night riding between installation and selling the bike but I remember them being at least adequate.

Just needs a little bit more black in a few spots.
You know, the newer Busas have black sliding surfaces on their forks...  :bandit:

Seriously though, nice job!  :thumb:

Maybe you'll go flying by me on the twisties this year.  I'll wave as you go by.  :beers:

Nice ride! Take some time and get used to it though. Since you have not stretched it, it will be wheely prone. Also I would recommend some gixxer cams for her.

It has gixxer cams   I only changed out the intake cam though since my goal was torque, not top end power. Its a bit more wheelie prone than my zx14, but not too much.

Truth be told this bike is for sale.  :S

Yes sir ><  I have an '08 ZX14 as well and seeing as my wife and I want a house this year while prices are low, sacrifices must be made. After riding it to break it in, i will be really sad to see it go. Not a single hit on craigslist or pnwriders yet though. Still too early methinks. Something tells me im gonna end up practically giving it away.

/sigh

thats the trouble with special bikes 'resale value', makes me wish I didn't already have a bandit because I'd be buying yours in a heartbeat.
