Title: 100000 km
Post by: regaliz2 on November 19, 2007, 01:21:42 PM
Hello,

It is said that the motor of the bandit is hard as stone, but...have anyone seen the 100000 km in a bandit? is it a urban legend?

100,000 miles isn't uncommon and several have logged >200,000 and one in the hands of a m/c courrier has >300,000... so at 100K km, you're just getting broken in.  :bandit:

Here's a recent thread (http://forums.banditalley.net/index.php?topic=10080.15) where an owner reports 72,000 miles, which is well over 100K km.

my 1998 Gen 1 just rolled over 60k miles.....I think that is about 100k klicks.  Actually have a little over 60,500.  It's on it's third clutch, second timing chain, a couple bump overs, all the common mods (jet kit, k&n filter, micron can, hole shot advancer, hard brake lines, progressive shock, race tech front end), a few add-ons (secdem windscreen, pyramid bellypan, renthal bars, suzi tail rack, tourmaster bags & tankbag), can't remeber how many dunlop & michelin tires, and third set of brake pads.

It runs pretty good.  The front isn't smooth over 100mph right now (the front tire is looking rough & stick-on wheel wt is gone) and the carbs have a little hesitation at 4k rpms.  Has never used any oil.  And I just rode it 600 miles last weekend in S Okla & N Tx.

Happy Thanksgiving

 :beers:

And to think the the buyer of my 05 B1200 was complaining that it had over 5000 miles (6100) on my bike when sold, more then advertise because I did some riding before it sold. According to him having had a few already bought and sold, he never keeps a B1200 past 8000 miles to avoid maintenance problems....Yeah right!

At the moment I've got just under 57000ks on my 2002 bandit, only about 1/2 what Lowryter has (probably less than 1/2, miles to ks conversions confuse me) but no probs at all not even extra oil use Graham

I got a 130,000k's up on the B6, and she still runs every bit as hard as the day I bought it.
Truth be know it runs harder than the day I bought it. The bike before it was an fj1200 and I sold it a bit worse for wear with 280,000ks on the clock, having said that it still pulled past 260kph no problems and mighty quickly. Modern jap 4's such as the Fj 1200 the Bandit 1200 should easy see 300,000k's under normal type use. And my bikes got used as full time courier bikes.

Wow, It is incredible the hard that are our bandits, one question, when you get the 100000 km what does the odometer, does it start again or it stall in that position and you suppose the rest kilometers?

Thanks for your answers there is more than the urban legend
