Title: 2006 Suzuki GXSR 600
Post by: FreediverGa on May 07, 2006, 09:38:51 AM
Well I've had my Bandit for about 5 years  now and have done everything I could to making it more of racing bike.  The other day I made the mistake of sitting on one of the new 06 Gixxer 600 and I found want I was looking for!!!  So  at the end of the summer if not sooner I will be selling my Bandit 6 for a Gixxer 6.  I just wanted to know if you guys know what the reliablity record is on Gixxer 6's.  I've heard different things form different people, I really don't  think this things are that hard to keep up and break down all the time.  IF it was that bad you would her alot more from people about them.

I felt really comfirtable on the bike and felt real natural for me when sitting on it.  I get all excited now when I see on the road.  I just hope I can hold out long enough untell I get the bandit sold.  I can hear it calling my name!

I havent ridden one since the 02 model, but since they switched over to the Fuel injection system and changed the body style they have continuously tried to improve it every year in some small way. I loved riding it alone but if I had a passanger on it was murder on your hands and wrists from leaning over so far. It has one of the more aggresive styled setup for that. One other cool thing is going from a gsxr 6 to a 1000 didn't feel any diffrent for me handling-wise, there was just a lot more power.

I really like their looks, but can't handle the riding position.  Pretty bikes.

I would suggest that you spend a little extra and get the 750.
More usable midrange.
Then put a power comander and this trick new yosh exhaust on there....and......YEA BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reviews on the 750 are incredible!!

$1200 higher than the 600, though.

I like the 600 though I don't need the extra HP really.  I think the 600 is more enjoyable to me and like light feel of a 600.

They redid the the whole riding position so the bars are 30mm closer and the rider is in more comfirtable position.

I just want to know how you use the slipper clutch?  Do you still blip the throttle on every down shift.  Anyoneknow  how to use a slipper clutch like the New GSXR have on them

I'd be thinking about the insurance costs, it might be more than the bandit.

The same they see the bandit as a sportbike and the Gsxr as the same so no change just the CC difference and that doesn't change if move over to the Gsxr6 from  the Bandit6
