A good thing...a bad thing...

Well, I actually met Lynn a couple of weeks ago at an Airshow.
At that time, he was lusting over a lovely airplane.
It's nice to see him lusting over something more 'down to earth', and a little faster!
The plane insurance may be cheaper, though.....

That would be the Cirrus SR-22 GTS.....310HP, full glass panel, airframe ballistic parachute recovery system (I found that big red deployment handle both reassuring and ominous)...I actually ended up with two rides, one as pilot and another as back seat guy.....60 easy payments plus a huge ass balloon...way off topic....did not go back to the dealer yesterday, raining again today. having a new electric brake controller installed on my truck tomorrow....maybe Thursday...plenty of time to think it over... :?:

The Cirrus SR22-GTS, which seats a pilot and three passengers, sells for $444,000 and has a cruising speed of 210 mph and a range of 800 nautical miles

OK.  The Cirrus has a higher top speed......... :duh:
And a ballistic chute may be tough to fit on a 'Busa, but may be a good idea!

Wifey is more in favor of the plane than she is the 'Busa.....the plane would be great but very high maintenance...and I would feel obligated to use it when all I really want to do is go ride....I think that lfe was easier when I was making payments on a used Sportster in 1967.....but not really...

edited to add:  how about backpack ballistic recovery systems?  Ejection seats that rocket your butt clear of the impact?  Pull the d-ring and goodbye grandma making the left turn in front of you...   :beers:

But then her  Bingo playing partner following her shortly  behind in a '73 Buick would get you.....just as you touch down.

"Parachute?  Officer, what parachute?  I didn't see a parachute.   Oh  my!   I didn't make a wrong turn onto the runway at the airport again, did I?    These roads are so confusing!!"

Let me put an end to this...the 'Busa and I are not of compatible shapes...maybe ten years ago before I began expanding my waistline...maybe....when Manny said that they felt ungainly and awkward he had it right...straightline bike, almost a laydown cruiser sort of feel if you can imagine that.  The 'Busa riders will slam me for that I bet.....back on the Bandit, sitting more upright, feels like my favorite sofa at home....I'll just glance over at that B-King pic on the front of my desk fridge...thank you Paul...
