Title: advice needed
Post by: Dragon888 on March 13, 2008, 05:51:05 AM
Its been a while since I last posted here. My question is what seems to be the problem when you have a buzzing vibrations on the handle and footpegs, causing your hands to be numb after only 15 minuites of rriding the bike? What are the possible fixes for these problems. TIA bros!

An in-line 4 cyclinder bike will buzz if it's out of tune.  In other words do the the valves need to be adjusted and carburators synchronized?  Another source of vibration can be loose fasteners.  You may want to look over the whole bike for loose bolts especially the motor mount bolts.

As above...

1. Check all fasteners, motor mounts, steering head, etc.
2. Adjust valves, syn carbs
3. Consider a "bar snake" or fill bars with BB's
4. Consider heavier bar ends

Checked the motor mounts already, synched the carbs november of last year, will be checking the valves for adjustment & synch if needed this monday. Havent changed the plugs yet since I got the bike last October.Adjusted the chains, dont know how to post pictures on this thread, but I think my bike has no bar ends. Regarding putting ballbearings  in the handle bars, I would really like to try it out, do you guys have any idea to where can I get BBs? Ive read somewhere they called it ammo. Is it the ones being used as ammo on air guns? Are steel BBs ok for that.

I guess I'm lucky that my 97 B12 doesn't vibrate very much, or maybe I'm just used to it?  I'm curious, what model/year do you have?
