I see this on sport bikes and was wondering what there for and if they are really needed. there like little warmers for you brake reservior.

I don't think I've ever seen 'em or heard of them - and I can't imagine why you would want one. It's a bad thing if brake fluid reaches its boiling point, which it can do if the brakes are used a lot. I could understand something designed to try to keep it cooler, but a warmer doesn't make much sense. I doubt you'd be doing much riding if it was cold enough to freeze the stuff.

No I see them on race bikes all the they look like sweat bands. Can that kinda heat travel all the up the brake line like that to reservior. You see them all the time when they have on board camera in the dash looking back toward the rider, just the left of his head when there in a full tuck behind the wind screen.

ive seen them too but they are used to help keep brake fluid from seeping out of the threads on the plastic resevoir (sp?) and cap..

there is not reason to warm the fluid, you want to actually acomplish the opposite. Brakes perform better with fluid temps lower.

My buddy has one on his Aprilia Tunono. If you dont have it you can see brake fluid spots collect on the windscreen..

Do they not seal up tight enough to keep that from happening?

from what I hear, the plastic ones tend to seep a little fluid around the threads..

They are sweat bands. They keep the plastic resivour from getting aged by the sun. Keeps them looking new and nice instead of cloudy and cracked.-Tom
