ANYBODY HAVE AFTERMARKET WHEELS ON THEIR B-12?
« on: June 04, 2006, 01:09:46 AM »
OKAY HERE IS MY ISSUE AND MY QUESTION:....

I WANTED TO BUY A SET OF AFTERMARKET WHEELS FOR MY B-12, BUT I HAD SOME DIFFICULTY.....

HOW ABOUT YOUR BANDIT?.....

DO YOU HAVE AFTERMARKET WHEELS?....

HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME:....

I RECENTLY CONTACTED R.C. COMPONENTS “RETAILER” AND ORDERED A SET OF “STAR” WHEELS FOR MY 2001 B-12.....(http://www.exoticsportbike.com/star2.htm).....

TWO DAYS AFTER I PLACED THE ORDER, THE RETAILER CALLED BACK AND STATED THAT R.C. COMPONENTS NO LONGER MAKES ANY WHEELS FOR THE SUZUKI BANDITS.....

I FOUND OUT THAT R.C. COMPONENTS STILL MAKES WHEELS FOR THE HAYABUSA AND THE GSXR-1000; AS WELL AS MANY OTHER SPORT BIKES.....

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WHEELS FROM OTHER BIKES WILL FIT THE 2001 SUZUKI BANDIT 1200S; AND WHAT (IF ANY) MODIFICATIONS ARE NEEDED TO MAKE THEM FIT?....

ALSO, ARE THERE ANY OTHER AFTERMARKET WHEEL SUPPLIERS FOR THE BANDITS?....

THANKS.

Bill "Blade" Johnson has a set of RC Components Daytona wheels on his B12, but he bought them shortly after he bought his bike back in '01 or '02.

What about having your existing wheels chromed, powder coated some color, or just polished and sealed?  Probably cheaper.

YOU'RE RIGHT, IT IS PROBABLY CHEAPER TO GO THE OTHER ROUTES, BUT THE STOCK WHEEL DESIGN JUST DOESN'T APPEAL TO ME.....

I HAVE SEEN SO MANY SPORT BIKES, CRUISERS, AND ALSO SOME BANDITS WITH GREAT LOOKING AFTERMARKET WHEELS AND I WISH THAT I COULD HAVE THAT GREAT LOOK FOR MY BANDIT.....

I KNOW THAT HAVING AFTERMARKET WHEELS IS JUST A FORM OF "EYE CANDY", BUT WHAT THE HELL....

TAKE A LOOK AT THESE:

I AM NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE PAINT JOB ON THE BIKE, BUT I LOVE THE WHEELS.....

THEY WOULD LOOK GREAT ON MY RED BANDIT.....

I remember Carry Andrews had Performance wheels on his Bandit, but that was some time ago.Getting rid of unsprung weight makes a lighter handeling bike if you have a coupleK to throw at it. The Bandit and certain yr gsx-R wheels are the same so you should be able to find them.

Wow!  I like those Kawa wheels.  I wonder if they'd still be on my bike when I came out if I went in Wal-Mart for an hour of shopping?

Truthfully, I'm bored with the never ending parade of fat three-spoke wheels myself.  Suzuki had better looking wheels in the past.  Must be the cheapest possible thing that they're putting on now.

I AGREE WITH YOU.....

SUZUKI NEEDS TO GO BACK TO USING BETTER WHEELS.....

AS FAR AS WAL-MART GOES, I THINK THAT YOU WOULD HAVE 10 TO 20 PEOPLE AROUND YOUR BIKE, ADMIRING YOUR WHEELS, SO THE CURIOUS CROWD WOULD ACTUALLY BE YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM.....

I wonder what it would cost, though, to have our black painted wheels chromed?  I guess they'd have to be sandblasted first, then chromed.

MOST PLACES THAT I CONTACTED ABOUT HAVING THE ORIGINAL WHEELS CHROMED, CHARGE BETWEEN $550.00 AND $700.00.....

IF THEY HAVE A SET IN STOCK THEN YOU CAN EXCHANGE THEM.....OTHERWISE, YOU WILL HAVE TO BE WITHOUT YOUR WHEELS FOR 6 TO 8 WEEKS.....

I WON'T BE WITHOUT MY BANDIT THIS TIME OF YEAR FOR 6 TO 8 WEEKS.....

AND I AM NOT THAT CRAZY ABOUT THE ORIGINAL WHEELS ANYWAY.....
