Some of us have speculated there might be a 2010 GSX1250F to follow in the footsteps of the GSX650F... well, it's true! Though it hasn't appeared on the US Suzuki site (yet, hopefully). Canada, UK and Spain at least are showing off the newest addition. In Canada, there's even two models of it - a standard GSX1250FA and a Touring GSX1250SEA with 3 bags and a touring windscreen.

Coolio. I'm still trying to figure out why the GSX650F *isn't* a Bandit though.

nice, they have also changed the naked bike for 2010. it gets the 650's funny shaped headlight ( kinda gladius shape)
i think i prefer the round one or is that cos i just bought a brand new 1250 naked bike !!!!! :banghead:

Coolio. I'm still trying to figure out why the GSX650F *isn't* a Bandit though.
IMHO, it's in name only. Remember the post Hans Muth designed Katanas? They were GSX(displacement)F in model designation in the US, and was their only name in many markets. I guess they're just using a fully faired Bandit to continue their legacy.
[The original Katanas, designed by Hans Muth, were GSX(displacement)S's. In the US, the "X" was dropped from the model designation.]

Those lowers actually look like they offer some wind protection. Wonder if they'll fit the 1250S?

Looks like you'd have to have the whole fairing setup. You'd probably also have to weld on the mounting tabs, too. If the GSX1250S is like the 650 version, the instrument cluster is different than the Bandit, too, so that may raise an issue or two.

I may be answering the wrong questions here but...
The 1250 was a move for EPA reasons... cleaner exhaust, only... as I understand it.
Nice bike in many ways... another but:
A bit less HP
Fuel injection... nice... puts fuel pump in tank, so it's about 1 litre smaller and no blank spots as I hear it.
Heavier than a 98, (got one), and less amenable to HP tweaks since it is "mapped" for fuel injection.
ABS is nice especially when wet or approaching urban places of death. These are stop lights where cars, trucks etc. sit and idle while some drip oil on the road day after day. A back up can streach a LONG way back and suddenly you are on a "skid pan". The last time I was asleep in one of these situations, I went down the side between the guard rail and the line of cars, (2-3 cars worth). Helmets are great for hiding your identity and a red face. :yikes:
That said, the Bandit is still a magnificent "Standard Bike" that is marvelously adaptable to your needs... but then you knew that. :beers: :beers: :beers:
