Study Shows Suzuki Motorcycle Is Risky Business
June 20, 2005
The Suzuki GSX-R Series motorcycle is the most likely motorcycle to be stolen and to be involved in a crash according to a recent study of claims data on more than two million motorcycles insured over the past three years.
The study, conducted by The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, the country's largest motorcycle insurer, also revealed that the least likely motorcycle to be stolen is Suzuki Savage, while the least likely to be crashed is the Yamaha Virago Series.
So what does this mean for bikers?
If you choose a motorcycle that's involved in more crashes or is stolen more often you'll most likely pay more for insurance.
"Insurance rates are based on a lot of information about you and your driving record as well as the make and model bike you ride," said Rick Stern, motorcycle product manager, Progressive. "If you buy a bike that's stolen often, you may pay more for comprehensive coverage, and if you buy a bike that is involved in more crashes then you may pay more for collision. We want bikers to be aware of what drives rates so they can make better, more informed insurance decisions."
Most Likely to Be Stolen
1. Suzuki GSX-R Series
2. Yamaha YZF Series

So, the safest bike that is least likely to be stolen is a Suzuki Savage?
Sorry, I'll take my chances on my B12! :duh:
-
Actually it would be the Harley Davidson since it only showed up in one category.
-
Yeah, but the Harley didn't make it into the 'least likely to be stolen' category.......
I knew the Savage 650 was too ugly to be stolen, and too slow to get into trouble before reading this..... :bigok:
-
But it didn't make into the ”Most Likely” category either. Which means nobody really cares about an FXR. It's not a fancy bike. Not worth stealing so it is (new category) least likely to be seen on Americas greatest police chases. Unlike all the other bikes in the survey.

I'm not really sure what an FXR looks like. Sounds like Harley needs to work on the holy brand name. This suggests the hogs aren't worth stealing! :monkeymoon:
One question pops up, though. Are Harley tshirts more likely to be stolen than Rice Rocket tshirts?
Let's delve into the important issues...... :duh:

I think I stick with the NON-LISTED bikes, not a big on lines and lists

After consulting with my fashion coordinator (Susie) I would have to say (actually has to say) that the Harley shirts have the best designs and sayings. Therefore they are the most likely to be stolen. Kawasaki and Yamaha shirts make better shop towels than wearing apparel. Discretion being the better part of valor she refuses to comment on Suzuki wearing apparel.

Wear it like you stole it?
Yes, I'm sure Susie lets you wear a 'If you can read this, the biotch fell off' t-shirt! :monkeymoon:
Actually, a good t-shirt for female riders would say something like
"The biotch just passed you...and if you weren't so fat, bald, and ugly, you might have a chance of riding with me...."
How about....
"I know you can read this shirt cuz I see your lips moving!
Stop looking at my arse and watch the road!"
:beers:

Good ones Pete.
Maybe you should start a company designing women's t-shirts??

Somehow, putting clothes on women has never been a priority with me .
(Although I usually don't have much luck getting them to take them off, either.......)
Of course, there's also....
"the BIOTCH didn't fall off.....
she DEFLATED and is flapping in the wind behind you..."

Seen on a license plate frame of a female owned, built & ridden GSXR7/11:
"DOES THIS BIKE MAKE MY BUTT LOOK FAST?"[/list]
The answer was, Yes! :bigok:

That's a good one.
