I just got a quote from a local shop that will make me up a 2-line stainless braided set for the front brakes of my '01 B12. Does that sound like a good deal? Thanks.
-
How much did they quote you? :stickpoke:
-
Oops. What a dud. The quote was for $109.00.
-
It's only $89.95 for a Galfer 2-line setup from Holeshot, and I'm sure with a little searching, you can find them cheaper than Dale's price.
-
Frito, didn't you need a longer front brake line setup due to some handlebar changes? The price probably isn't too bad, since you need a non- stock length.
Is a 2 line setup gonna be too 'busy'?
Not sure I've seen one on a bandit.
-
It's slightly busier at the master cylinder. It's long enough to handle taller than stock bars, how much taller, I don't know.

Yes, they are longer than stock. He didn't say what price difference there is because of this. I imagine it would look a bit busier, but if it saves me enough money, I can deal with it.

I'm looking at Dale's handlebar riser. Is there and advantage to the two line system other than the lines are stainless the whole way to the caliper? Is there something lost (feel or braking power) in the "T"??
:thanks:
-
It seems to me that the only advantages are that 1). there only two lines instead of three, and 2). there's less chance of leakage without the midway connection. The other "real" advantage is that two lines are much cheaper than three.

I'd like to see a two line kit for the Bandit that's like what they use on current GSXR's and SV1K's... One long line from the master cylinder down to the right caliper and a jumper line from the right to the left caliper. Get's rid of the tee and you still have the cleaner look on the handlebar of a single line.
-
You could probobly have a local shop make some up like that.
-
I'm thinking the setup for a SV1K naked would work... they use the same calipers as the 2G B12.

I've got the Holeshot brake line kit on the front. I don't think it looks busy IMHO. It is a bit goofy at the master cylinder though.
