What a great bike
« on: July 19, 2005, 06:45:54 PM »
I just want to say that I have now had my B1200S for close to 4 years. I weathered the oil usage crisis and have to say that I absolutely love this motorcycle.
I became fuly aware of just how great it is when I left on a 3 week trip in June. All told I rode 8300 miles and Changed the oil at 4399 miles in Eureka,CA. I used around 1 litre of oil for the whole trip and the bike ran like a train. Whatever speed I wanted was there. Whatever road I was on fit and I just had fun. What more could you ask of a motorcycle. In fact the only thing that did not perform as it should was my Hawkoiler which quit after one day, but I believe it was cause by my installation and no fault of the oiler.
If anyone has any question as to whether this is a good sport-Touring bike take my word for it. Add a set of GIVI luggage and head for the horizon.

Glad to hear that your trip went good. :beers:   A few weeks back, I took a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  I ended up with about 2900 miles on my trip.
03 Naked Bandit 1200 <br />Vitamin B12, its great for the soul!

i couldn't agree more. i rode a new zzr1200 recently, it was cool but  too much plastic and cramped riding position. with my corbin seat 8 hours at a shot isn't bad at all

We'll have to get together for a short ride one day.

We can just go up and down Whiting road all day.

I work in Syracuse, so when I ride in, I always go down bennet's corners/whiting on my indirect route home.

And it sounds like per your standards, a short ride is what?  750 miles?
