Hey folks
I have posted an online article on camping on a sport tourer. After a 27 day trip I have figured out what is needed and what is not.
I hope you find it useful

Good little write-up Icemakk
I assume you had a great 27 day trip, that's pretty impressive...
I'm a bit of a wuss, I prefer to motel it, 2 to a room.

I had an awesome 27 day trip and would still be out there if the $$ had not run out.
For a trip with motels you can travel even lighter but a lot of the tips still apply. When you are in some areas, like the Giant Redwoods.... ya just gotta camp IMO

I'll pass on the 5th wheel. My ideal is to get away from it all.... not bring it all with me

I'm with Mackie, I prefer the motel route, though I have done the camping route before. Don't have to pack as much and it's usually easier to find a motel than a campground.
(Though you don't always have to sleep in an official campground - I've spent the night in fields and highway rest stops before.)

I see most non-campers seem to be from the USA. Hmmm, are the Americans just getting softer? :stickpoke:
I suppose it is like WWII when the Brits and Americans could not free Holland. Bring in the Canucks!!
General: "Ok boys, we're going to free Holland but it won't be easy. You'll have to eat and bath out doors. If you are lucky you will be able to sleep in a tent and there is no modern plumbing. We will be hunting Nazis and they may shoot back. Ready?"
Troops: "YAY!! We're going camping AND hunting!!!"
Holland was freed before happy hour ended.
The end
:welcome:

<ROFLMOA> "Camping and Hunting" too funny icemakk
After a long... long... 25 years I'm just getting back into street bikes. During my hiatis I did the camping and dirt biking thing hauling evering all over the country. I'm now looking forward to getting out there on the Bandit and can't imagine hauling my bike somewhere to ride when I could ride there.

I guess I missed the part in the article on getting the boss to OK my leave from work for 27 days

We got ours primarily for the MX bikes, but it sure is nice to get our street bikes past all of this depressing crap and on to the good and fun roads instead...

The tires on our bikes are shaped like car tires after maybe two days of this.

Like the saying, bring half the clothes, twice the money

Or like the folks in icemakk's recent video post... just bring money, forget ALL the clothes. :stickpoke:
