No I didn't ride a customers bike this time! My son bought a 07 CBR600RR w/ 1600 miles yesterday. Awsome bike, GREAT brakes, and sooo light. It's not the bike I tried steering him toward though. Its his 1st street ride, and I suggested the 650 Ninga/650 Verseys/SV650/DL650. But I can't blame him for wanting the CBR, its a nice bike. I didn't get a chance to use what its made for, its power range isn't really usable on the street. Definatly track oriented, but less weight on your hands than on my SV1000. My SV and Bandit both give better wind protection.(SV the best w/ the double bubble, and stock on the 1st gen Bandit.)
He's not ready for the track yet, I'm pushing the Rider Saftey course. And giving him all kinds of street wise info.

just an fyi . I work at a welding shop . we do mostly die and mold welding but walkins are allways welcome . during the course of any given summer we will get a fair share of motorcycles in for welding . all different brands and models with no two alike UNTIL (lol ) last summer .I welded on 3 different 07 600 rr`s . all 3 went down and needed frame repair . I`m not going to say something is wrong with that bike but it is very odd to see even two of the same in any given season in the shop . 3 had me wondering ....just a heads up . btw it was the same weld job on each .left footpeg frame mount and fuel tank rear mounts pulled out of the frame . also all 3 wanted to pay cash :yikes:please tell your son to BE CAREFULL

Thanks for the heads up Snofrog, will have to keep a close eye on it.

He's your boy...make him take it! If not whoop his ass....lol Or give him a time-out if you're into the new wave crap that's produced a generation of crybabies  My girlfriend's son wants to get a bike once he's old enough and already told him he isn't going out on the road until he takes the rider course.

Wonder if it's a production problem similar to what happened with the Gixxers a few years back. Were the breaks due to the bike going down?

:thanks: for the input, They keep trying to save weight here and there in the battle of the 600s, but they claim the frames are stonger? Then why are they having issues?
My son's 29, but the 'ol boy still has alot of say. I have to finish up a job tommorow, but Sunday I'd like to take a ride with him. He's working too (@ time&1/2 @ prevailing wage) Sunday I'll take the Bandit w/ the wife on board and I'll let him lead for wahile so I can see what he's doing. But I'm still pushing the Saftey Course! I'd like my wife to take it too, if I had the cash right now, I'd pick up a CB250 for her(or something else small and light.) If I get done wirking soon enough Sat. I'll take the SV out for a spin, Befor changing tires for Fasstrax on the 2nd. Dan's(son) been out pretty much every chance after work getting used to the bike.Starting to feel comfortable,so I want to follow him awhile. Later, Dan
