Title: Cdn source for Stebel Air Horn
Post by: Barbarian on May 23, 2008, 01:44:24 PM
I've decided that I want to pick up a Stebel Air Horn, but so far I've been stymied in finding a Canadian retailer that sells them.

I've found plenty of American stores willing to ship me one for anywhere from $22 to $48, which strikes me as a wee bit pricey for a three pound item that costs $45 with a wiring kit thrown it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Need some more information....  City and Postal Code would be very helpful.  You can P/M me if you don't want to post that up here.

While on many boards I write "Location: is french for rental," here I have actually posted the city I live -- Montreal, Quebec, Canada :)

Hopefully you can find one. I LOVE mine. I love it so much, I'm thinking of adding a 2nd one. Yes, really. :) I can hide it on the opposite side of where I mounted my first. It's a great horn.

I was going to get a UPS quote for shipping but need a valid postal code.... I have access to a commercial account and might be able to save a little bit on shipping.  Seems like the last thing I sent northbound was $15 bucks or so but it all depends on weight and location.  Might be better to pony up the shipping charges and if something got messed up you could take it up directly with the supplier.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll never use UPS ever again.

I used to live in the U.S. I moved north, but one item had to be shipped because of warranty issues. UPS slapped me a $45 'tax brokerage' charge (on a $60, used, item) even though I had a letter of exemption from customs.

After two weeks, UPS finally agreed that if the government wasn't charging taxes to let me import my own stuff, they weren't allowed to charge me fees to broker said stuff, and gave me back my box.

Then six months letter I got a letter from a collection agency threatening to wipe out my credit rating unless I paid UPS $65 immediately for non-payment of brokerage fees.  :banghead:

Guess I will have to keep looking.

USPS is the best to ship to Canada. Usually a bit slow, but reliable, and NO brokerage fees (on higher value items, you'll get stuck with paying taxes, and only a $5 fee).
