Title: Clutch lever travel
Post by: plhcpat on August 15, 2010, 02:09:18 PM
Bought my son a '07 250 Ninja (3100 miles now) to ride with me on the '07 1250.  Took the Ninja for a ride today and noticed the clutch only has to move around an 1/8" to engage/disengage.  Does anyone else have a '07 250 Ninja?  Does this seem normal?  Or should I get new clutch discs??
Thanks,
Pat

have you tried adjusting it yet? Old school cable clutch on that 250

Nope, have not adjusted it.   Looks like if I adjust it,  it will go the wrong way.

usually there is an adjuster down by the case as well, might help to download the service manual i'm sure it's online somewhere.
I highly doubt a 250 ninja would burn through its clutch plates in 3100 miles... it seems highly unlikely to me.
seriously try adjusting it, see if you can turn things in such a way as to give your cable more 'slack' therefore not pulling on the clutch right away. You can always turn it back to where it is now.
