Hi all, I havn't been in for awhile. I still have the 98 Bandit, wich is getting a paint job (a redo of what it already had). And I still have the SV1K. But havn't had much time to ride either one much and 1 might have to go to pay school taxes, bummer.
Glad to see alot of the gang still here. :congrats: Stormi on the new bike!
Anyhow, heres the ugly part that I opened the topic with.
After finishing a job yesterday,(on the far west side of Erie Co) I stopped at the bike shop to grab the SV and check on a job coming up on the far east side of the county. I'm going down a state highway and I'm coming up to a road I want to hang a left on. There is a truck stoped (he has a stop sign),and as I get ready to turn left in front of him,I'm looking at his face and he's not looking back. ( I aways try to make eye contact, with who ever is behind the wheel) My 6th sense told me something was wrong, and just as I had my front wheel over the yellow line I hit the front brake and he jumps on the gas and makes a left turn. I tryed hitting my horn, but never taking my eyes off of him and as fast as everything happened, I only turned my signal off instead.( I quess I don't use my horn much, hell I havn't even been able to ride much.) But the stupid old fart never even seen me. I think even as I had my arm in the air cursing at him,he never looked in the mirror as he sped off.
So I just thought I'd send out a message of making eye contact with the cagers when possible to avoid being hit by one. :beers: Dan

I agree on the eye contact and :congrats: on not being hurt or droping the bike.
Out where I live the farmers do not look prior to pulling out in front of trucks, so a bike is no big deal.
I'm sure they have considered me a LOT CRAZY several times, as I was asking them to pull over so as to discuss the problem with them.
Good Luck

More :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:
There are too many of these cagers out there.
My nemisis' are valium princess' about late thirtys who DO look you in the eye, sort of, and still pull out. I don't think they see a dam thing but the DO drive slowly. The other problem in this small city is demographics. The predominence of very old seniors as a retirement comunity, means that many of them don't look... AT All. My own grandfather fit into this picture. He would pull up to a corner at a stop sign and stop. After that, he must have thought he had done his duty as he would then pull out. :yikes:

I've been in Petersboro, but its been 34 years ago. When my wife and I were on our Honeymoon. We went fishing @ Stoney Lake and stayed at Little's campground. The couple that owned it were quite a hoot! Beatrice and Oswald Little, He was a spunky ole' guy,and he sure liked my Molsen Golden. They would have us over for tea time every day,and showed us around. Good memories!
