CV GOES TO SUZUKI

From the MOTOGP site:

Denning excited by Vermeulen signing
News - Suzuki have pulled off a major coup by securing the services of MotoGP’s latest sensation Chris Vermeulen.

I wonder how he'll go, I really thought he would've been better off staying in SBK until he could get a ride on a Honda or a Yamaha.

Let's hope he can do better than Junior Robers, or the the bloke, Hopkins.

I was surprised to hear it, too. Figured he was going to MGP on a Honda since he got a ride after WSB was over.

Sadly, Suzuki hasn't been doing too well in MotorGP. Hopkins has had his bike in or near the front for short periods, but can't keep it there. Unless the make some serious improvements in bikes between now and the new season, this could be a poor move on Chris' part.

And I guess in '07 the MotoGP premiere class drops from a 990 max down to 800... which will likely mean all-new bikes for everyone. Not such a big deal for Honda and Yamaha since they're the two largest companies playing, but it could be tougher on the companies that field smaller teams and have less $$$ to spend.

If Honda is true to form they'll already have an 800 built and are testing it now.

I don't know what taking down the capacity to 800cc is aimed at.  If it's to reduce speed, then the manufacturers will just make a bloody quick 800.

I stand to be corrected, but didn't they try reducing the capacity of the F1 cars a few years ago, then introduced 'treaded' tyres, all in a bid to slow them down, then came along a famous Italian red car and a certain German fellow behind the wheel and the lap times started going down again.

It is a shame that Suzuki can make an amazing 1000cc Superbike, put an Aussie on it and win the AMA and WSBK championships.  The GXR1000 looks set to take the Aussie championship as well.   Hey, that's it, Sukuki have found the answer, put a Aussie on the thing....

I'm sure Matt hasn't finished embarrasing your lot yet.  Just think though, it could have been worse.......had Foggerty not fallen off his Ducati then you'd have had a season or two with Troy Bayliss as well as Matt.

Funny you should say that, was speaking to one of Matts sales reps, the other day, and the fact is there is better money for him racing in the AMA than there is swapping over to world super bikes. go figure.
Foot loose and fancy free.
