Daytona Racing on Speed Channel........
« on: March 10, 2005, 10:53:02 PM »
The Speed Channel is covering the bike racing in Daytona this week....Damn good coverage today....I miss going to Daytona....but I do not miss the hangovers....I was sitting in the stands at the end of the back straight the first year that the chicane was installed....they had bales of hay to direct the riders, needlees to say, straw was falling from the sky most of the day....it was a sight to see... :duh:
2007 Kawasaki KLR650...good fun..

2005 Turbo Hayabusa....pushing 400hp...sometimes a scary ride...

Great coverage today.... alas the VCR is down and I had to go back to work so I missed a bunch of it.  Pretty cool that team Michael Jordan picked up a podium spot.

Caught the 600SS this AM before heading off to work. Sadly, the Zook of Ben Spies that led briefly didn't manage to keep it long and didn't even podium, but he did manage to squeeze up a place on the finish line dash.

I'm going to be glued to the TV today. I only get Speed Channel at our weekend place. It's snowing out and I told my wife I'm locking myself in the basement and am not to be bothered by her or the kids. She said she was going to go shopping then. This could end up more expensive than going to Daytona!

They're showing something other than NASCAR Nation????  I had stopped even checking Speed Channel.

NASCAR Nation... ain't that the truth! When I was watching the 600SS race yesterday, the start was delayed when a privateer's GSXR600 puked a rad hose just before the flag was to drop... so what do they do while waiting for the restart?
:duh: Yup, Busch Series NASCAR Update.

Oh yeah... that sucked soooo bad.... I was home for lunch and simply drooling over gettigng to watch 60 bikes head into the first turn.  The delay was too long and had to go back to the office - fortunately on the B12.

Went. Had a blast. Third year. Will go again if I can. It breaks up the winter and the place rocks.....bikes everywhere, great deals on gear, the vintage bikes bring smiles to my face, and overall I'd rather ride flat straight roads than sit at home typing on a darn keyboard.
There's nothing sweeter than the feeling I get leaned over in a long sweeper while the sun shines over fields of wind-swept grasses and trees that bracket me, the bike, and the warm lovely sitting tightly against my back.
