I registered on the site about two years ago, intending to get a Bandit 12S in a month or so. :-) Well, with a job change, (company changed hands), house repairs, relocation, new house and more repairs, after only two years, I finally got the Bandit this past Saturday. 2003 bandit 12S with 1600 miles on it. The PO dropped it three times and parked it in his garage over a year ago, apparently not comfortable with it.....understandably. Anyways, I've been riding for some years, so the 12S is about as intimidating as a new puppy. :-) Got my first ride on it this afternoon of about 150 miles and all I can say is N I C E !!!!! :-)
Gotta get a factory service manual for this thing though. :-)

:welcome: Blue, glad to see you come out of lurk mode.
:congrats: on finally making things happen!
You can d/l a manual in the members section free. It's not the factory one, but the price is right. :bigok:

Thanks, I'll download'er. :-) What can I say, sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men.................. eheh I figured if I was going to participate in a
bandit forum, I probably should have a bandit first. LOL Now, I guess I'm free to annoy everyone huh? :-)

Yeah - :congrats: and :welcome:!!!
What part of the world are ya in?

:congrats: on the new ride. Sold my 05 B12naked and I've been hoping and waiting for the 06 Bandit release but similar to you family commitment may mean I have to settle for a slightly older model. Still a Bandit is a Bandit is a Bandit and whatever the outcome I will be stoked just to get back on two wheels again.

I know what you mean. Its a pain when you're planned on a new bike and things keep getting in the way. :-) At least I wasnt without a ride for those couple of years. I have a 450, 1100 and an 1150 besides the 12S. eheheh

Congrats and Welcome!
Hope you were able to find one of the faster green '03's... and not just one of those many gray-primered models.
And remember...

Thanks. I've put 400 miles on the 12 since I got it home Sunday and I'm very impressed with it. If it has any bad habits, I havent found them yet.
Tracking, balance and handling are solid. I've read a few comments about brakes not being wonderful, but one of the first things I did was check out stopping ability from speed and the sucker will stand on its nose. LOL I dont figure I need more brakes than that. :-) It really shines at low speed handling. I find I can come to a four way stop intersection, five cars back and stop, pull in the clutch and just sit there with no feet down simply by wiggling the bars a little bit. I had a big grin today when I came to a four way and stopped, let the opposing car make its left turn, then the cross traffic go, then take my turn and hang a left, all without putting a foot down. The 12 handling isnt anything like trying to manage a top heavy 80's GS1100E. :-) Still working on developing a 6th sense feel for it though.

Naw, didnt come across one of the green ones. I have the plain vanilla, grey ghost, with a yosh can.
Worthless without pics huh? I guess I'm worthless then. :-) I dont have a digital camera. I would have one, but I spent all my money on a damn motorcycle. LOL Besides, it looks just like every other grey 12S. LMAO

Sweet, I'm in Brandon, maybe we can ride together sometime. I have some friends that go on a ride every sunday from Kathleen to brooksville taking the old 1-2 lane orange grove roads. I've yet to go, but I think I'm going to try this coming weekend if I get the day off.

Living in Florida year round and riding year round...Sheeesh you guys have it all.
If I want to ride in winter it means renting U-haul and driving south till warm enough to dump the trailer and RIDE South...
By the way...how does one go about adding picts to a post ? I don't seem to go anywhere with "Img" in Message body...

Click IMG paste the image address here then click IMG again. Include everything through the .jpg, but nothing that may be after it.

:thanks: for the specs on the picts...you're an Angel, Desolation !
It means you can't post picts straight from your computer though...
Well, I'm gonna create me a blog...
:thanks: again...

Gotta use a pic address that ends in something like .jpg.
For example, this one >>> http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/DesolationAngels/PrettyPeepers.jpg
Put the (http:// code before and after that sort of address. Do a right click on your pic and select Properties to see the picture address. Copy that address up to and including the .jpg, but nothing that may be after, then paste that in where you want it.
I don't think the site you're using permits picture hosting like Photobucket does. I sent you a PM.
If you use Photobucket and my instructions, you should be OK. This what you tried to put up as an experiment?
[img]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/DesolationAngels/x1pxzZ39wV--_dwTrlz-Zf4f4drQAzC4wpl.jpg)
I saved your pic as a .jpg to my PC, then uploaded it to Photobucket for photo hosting.

Cool pic! :bigok:

Well yes, that was the idea, with that pict...I'll take the time to follow your instructions step by step, Des. Angel...And like we say in french  Muchas gracias... :thanks: once more. Will try sometime during next nite.
If ever I ride down your way, or you mine, you're good for a drink or two or...on me.
