Gotta teachers' conference several hours north in Sudbury. I'm going to head east first for a 5 hour ride to see my dad first. Then head northwest for another five hours to get to the conference. Then back home after two days which is another five hours or so!

My new baby bandit has 800 clicks on it so just changed the oil. Gonna have the suzi dealer in Sudbury do that major 1000 km. check (about 800 clicks too late!). I hear the weather is gonna suck with intermittent rain the whole trip! I have lots of rain gear so I should be okay.

I'm going to try three inch foam rubber on the seat and see if that helps the tushie.

Mostly nice little two lane highways but I do have to get through toronto.

Wonder if there are any ugly girls i can pick up on the way? (I've given up on the pretty ones!)

This trip will probably put 1500 clicks on the bandit in three days! I can hardly wait!

Weird how all my so-called 'biker' buddies think I'm crazy to take the bike. No adventurous spirit around whatsoever.

I thought having a bike was all about having more adventure!!??!!

Thats awsome Jim,good way to enjoy the new bike. I'm looking foward to the rally comming up. Although I had the bike since it was new,I havn't done any long trips.(98 bought in 99) The rally will be about 640miles 1 way for me. I need to pick up some rain gear myself. I don't have any now,I'll have to look through the catolog at the bike shop.
Oh,and by the way,the ugly girls need lovin' too. Never judge a book by the cover.

Both of my riding jackets deal with rain just fine. My leather pants don't do so well though. I just bought an inexpensive (~$20) 2-piece rain suit from WalMart and use the pants from them to keep the leathers dry.

Don't know if you caught the thread I recently posted about the First Gear HT pants in the Gear section, but they're supposed to keep your legs dry, too. (Haven't had an opportunity to verify it yet though.)
And they'd be more multi-functional...
