A motorcyclist racing from a pursuing deputy in north Harris County was killed early Friday when he ran a red light and crashed a stolen bike into an 18-wheeler, the Harris County sheriff's office reported.
Sheriff's Lt. John Martin said the deputy in pursuit estimated the man was going about 100 mph in the 1400 block of Aldine Bender when he slammed into a tractor-trailer that was turning left from the northbound lanes of Chrisman at about 12:20 p.m.

The deputy, concerned about dangers to other motorists, was about to terminate his pursuit when the motorcycle hit the truck, Martin said.

The cyclist, whom deputies believe was in his mid-20s, was not immediately identified, Martin said.

The deputy had pursued one of two motorcyclists he observed traveling westbound at 80 mph in a 45 mph zone on Aldine Bender, Martin said.

The whereabouts of the second cyclist were unknown. Deputies determined that the motorcycle had been reported as stolen to Houston police.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Harris County dispatch at 713-221-6000.

SPLAT

Yeah... I'd have to think it'd be hard to identify him. If he didn't have an ID in his wallet, they are going to have a hard time of it! I doubt there is enough of an intact jaw to get any really good dental comparisons off of.

Dunno.  Maybe they shouldn't make much of an effort to identify the body.
It's not likely that he has any assets the owner of the stolen bike can go after in court........
If he has family, and maybe some life insurance....no sense in them being able to try to cash in.
(do life insurance policys pay off if you die while doing a felony, anyway?)

Maybe it's just better this turkey 'vanishes'..............

"Dunno, he went to the liquor store on that bike he stole, and he never came back!   Dammit, I gave him money for cigarettes and some Remy, too!"
