I haven't been around in a while, but I thougth I'd drop in and share that I recently bought a leftover '06 GSXR750 in black/yellow.
The Bandit's been such a great first bike (26,000 miles of comfy twisty riding) that I think I'm going to keep it (at least for a while longer).
I haven't gotten the 750 broken in yet because it's been chilly, but I've ridden it enough to realize that it's a scary piece of machinery. Truly intimidating.
Like I said, I think I'm going to keep the Bandit a while longer. I'm planning on putting some tires with a little bit longer wear life on it. Then I can ride it around as a daily driver without fear of the dreaded "flat spot" that robs me of efficiency on my weekend strafe-fests.
I'm still planning on making a 2-night trip down the Natchez Trace Pkwy with madmotorcyclist in the next 3-6 weeks! I'm riding the Bandit, of course. Anyone in the area is certainly welcome to join us. The more the merrier.
We'll start in Nashville and ride as far as we can in 2-3 days, hopefully to the end . . . Natchez, MS. This is a really great park road that runs through 3 states (translation: lotsa' cops  ). We don't plan on carving corners, so it'll probably be a laid-back ride.
More details to come.

I have driven the trace many times, the speed limit is 50 mph, and the park police are the ones to watch out for.
A friend of mine was a police chief in a town in Mississippi, and a park policeman told him that he didn't care what he was chief of, he was speeding, and he was getting a ticket.

Hey man, welcome back! Congrats on the Gix! If I were gonna get a full-on sportbike for the street, the seven-fiddy would be it!
Don't be such a stranger around here - even if you get rid of the Bandit.

Good to hear from ya Meat..... Congrats on that ride and once everything gets settled (don't like the word broken) in post up your impressions of the GSXR.
:congrats: again!!

You do know that the Bandit 1200 started out as the GSXR1100, don't you? You just got another GSXR. Congratulations on owning two Gixxers! I'm still hoping to get my first...

:congrats: Nothings wrong with having more than 1 motorcycle! If I were to get a GSX-R,I'd pick the 750 too. But I decided on the SV instead. Now if it would just stop snowing and warm up around here I could decide on wich one to ride  Dan

I remember when I got my Gixer. My buddy had ridden it and strongly warned me in almost the same words:"Scary piece of machinery. Mine had been Streetfightered with the side fairing pieces removed to show that great looking engine and everything from pistons, cams, K&N pods and Yosh can added. It WAS scary. Never been on anything that fast. And handling? Wow, could it handle. Too bad I got old. :crybaby:

Sort of hate to make the proverbial request but "pictures please!" Showing off a new bike is tradition.

From the Suzuki website pics, that black/yellow paint job looks damn good.
I second the motion for some pics, Landry... :congrats:
