Title: For All You Wanna Be B1250 Owners
Post by: Katamaniac on May 23, 2007, 09:33:42 AM
In the Wichita Eagle this morning is an ad for a 2007 B1250, Black with only 145 mile on it for $5,900. I haven't called the person who put the ad in the paper yet because it's a little early still, but I do plan on calling the person about it.

Of course the guys here at work were razzing me about it, since it is about $2,000 less than what I paid. "Yeah, but mine had 1 mile on it when I got it"

Sounds like the seller got in over their head and now they want to bail out. Too much money spent, or too much motorcycle to handle.

That's a heckuve deal for somebody.  :bandit:

I finally got her broke in. She has just over 1,000 miles now. No real problems to complain about yet. I did have the instrument cluster come loose on me a couple weeks ago. It just snapped back in place.

I will be coming through your way this friday on our way to Horseshoe Bend, The bike is staying at home on this trip I am sorry to say

Hey just curious- I see yours is a 1250SK7 - Mine is listed as a SK6?  Dealer screw up?

It might be. I will look at the paperwork when I get home this evening. We are having thunderstorms here, so the Bandit got a chance to rest in the garage today.

That'd be my guess since Suzuki changed the model year designator system in 2001 from an alphabetic one to a K# one (ie; 2001 = K1, 2002 = K2, and so on), so a 2006 is a K6 and a 2007 is a K7. The "S" in front of the "K" is part of the normal model name, GSF1200S, a naked version wouldn't have the "S".

Plus an additional "A" if you have ABS. So, my bike has the half fairing and is a 2007 model with ABS so it is a GSF1250SAK7.

The thread is headed "For All You Wanna Be B1250 Owners". Well, I'm gonna be a B1250 owner because soon I have just agreed a 1st June pick-up date with my dealer. Just over a week to go. Whoo-hoo!

Well Son-of-a-B!!!  I live in Oregon and was JUST in Wichita for some military training.  I swear, my timing in life just sucks!

I stopped in the huge dealer ya'll have there in Wichita.  Don't recall the name or location (off Kellog)...nice place to drool.  Which brings up a question/thought.  They had the Bandit parked next to the Yamaha FZ1.  They felt about the same sitting on them...thoughts on the FZ??

I took one for a long test ride last year. It's completely the opposite to the Bandit 1250. Some people will love it but I don't. The styling is fantastic - it looks modern and purposeful but the engine has been tuned for high BHP at the cost of usability. Below 6000 rpm I found it to be lethargic, above 6000 rpm, it took off like a scalded cat. It was fun but, for me, it meant that it wouldn't be in its power band for 70% of my riding. It has to be screamed.

The Bandit 1250 OTOH, is a totally different animal. It's looks aren't as radical and the power is way down but it's how it delivers its power that makes a difference. With maximum torque available from 3,700 rpm, the Bandit will surge forward at any speed in any gear. To overtake, crack the throttle open and zap past. On the FZ1, drop two gears, make the engine rev hard, get everybody staring at you, and then zap past. It's not my style. The 1250 has practical all-round power while the FZ1 is really better on a race track than the average public road. The FZ1 will appear to younger bikers where paper specifications and pose-appeal are more important. The Bandit appeals to more seasoned bikers who appreciate the characteristics of a good all-round bike.

Ha! Good going, 03!

I suspected as much when I saw your ad in the "Bikes For Sale" section...

You are gonna be so happy with this bike, and you're gettin' a great deal, popped cherry or not. It ain't even broke in yet!  :bigok:

So does this mean you'll change your handle to "07banditrdr"?  :bandit:

...but I've only been here a month or so!

I'd better control myself before I'm asked to be a mod.

So who is the biggest post-slut on the board, anyway? Red? Or me?

Hey, at least I have an excuse... if I can't ride a motorcycle yet, at least I can read, post, and argue about motorcycles.

That should be changing soon enough... my PT is going good and I might be back in the saddle as soon as early June. Maybe 2 weeks.

I think we should delete Paul's profile so he has to start over.  Of course, he'd still pass me by the time Zen's back on the road!   :stickpoke:

Hey, I was meaning average posts per day... with over 6K total, nobody is even close to Red. He's top whore of all time!

He's got me beat by average, too... over 7 posts per day compared to my nearly 4.

And you Zen, have almost 2.5x as many as me,... that would make me close to nunhood??    :stickpoke:

Hmm,.. looking at that... perhaps I better get my buns in gear and start posting a little more to my own board.

I find it funnier still that our sole mod has less than 1000 posts.  Perhaps Red will donate some of his??

I just got back from vacation and saw that you are getting the 1250  :congrats:
We need to get together and ride some time.

I am usually doing the Motorcycle Safety thing every other weekend, but I'm sure we can get things worked out for a ride or two.
