I have an 02 1200S.  Anyone ever use frame sliders, and if so, any suggestions for type and how to install?  Thanks in advance.

I think most of the folks here that use something use either case guards or NRC covers. (Though I'm sure if there's any slider owners out there, they'll pipe up.) There are some vendors out there that make sliders, you can see some of them at Wild Hair Accessories.

Hi naf,

Yes Paul is correct.

Here's my pitch.

I looked aroud State Side for a year almost for some decent frame sliders to fit my B1201. Finally found some in NZ. They took me 5 minutes to fit and look great (I think). Cost is quite good compared with US but shipping might be a hinderance

Got them from a place in Hamilton NZ. Check out www.rapidartf1.com

A couple of pics of mine FYI

If you get interested and need some help from this end, drop me an email and we'll go from there :bigok:

Those sites are helpful.  Have you found that the sliders and case guards mentioned help protect the front fairing in the event of a tip-over?  Plastic's expensive...

 :thanks:

Yes, plastic is expensive.
Case guards and frame sliders for the Bandit will help to prevent plastic damage in a parking lot tip over - as long as you don't punch a blinker thru the fairing. They aren't likely to save the plastic in a spill at road speeds . . . they'd have to stick out past the blinkers to do that. (Hard bags, like Givi, have been known to save bikes at speed - at the cost of a hard bag.) What they should do is keep the engine from being cracked or ground open and spilling it's blood all over the tarmac, allowing you to ride your bike away from an incident.
Engines are more expensive than plastic.

Best thing is not to drop your bike.

I just bought a set of LSL frame sliders from streetfightersusa.com  They look pretty slick, not quite as big as the pictures above.  Haven't gotten them yet.    They weren't cheap.  But, if it save the blood from spilling it will be worth it.

Check them out,

Brian
