Title: front tire
Post by: solman on January 02, 2008, 12:22:01 AM
I just installed a Metzler M1 on the front wheel.  I forget how much a front tire can make on the handling of the bike.  We change the rear in general more often than the front, so it is easy to forget the difference.  I remember after getting rid of the stock Macacrap for a Metzler Z1.  It was cupping bad and I could hear it every time I rode in a turn.  The Metzler tire is the best $40 I've spent in a while.  That's right, I bought a Metzler sport tire for $40.

I didn't see any more.  Around here, you just have to take a look at the selection whenever you go.  This is especially true when new styles are coming out.  They have to reduce the prices to get rid of their old inventory.  Right now, you can get a set of Dunlap 208's for less that $200 for a set.  Actually for what I paid for the front tire, I could've got a set of Metzlers for $200 or less.

I agree...and if I could find new fronts for $40, I would be changing 2x/year!!!

I think my last set was close to $400 + Taxes(installed)...but that's what happens when you need to find a dealer on the road, on a long road trip, and the tires won't get you holme. :duh:

Picked up my front wheel yesterday at the dealer with a M1 installed. $180 inc tire tax and balancing was the cheapest I could find it locally. Jeez, we get royally screwed up here..........

WOW, I guess so!  Heck, I've got my rear tires for cheaper than that.  I think you need to start checking the internet.  This is especially true since your dollar has gained ground.
