I recently went to a graphics convention in Boston where I saw this tiny video cam that looks like it would be ideal for this stuff. It records directly to a memory card in MPEG4 format, so there' s no tape transport system, something which does not necessarily like bumps and vibrations. It also takes stills at 11 MegaPixel resolution and even plays MP3s if you get bored on the road. Check it out:http://www.supacam.com

That sounds gimmicky to me. And if I'm putting out several hundred dollars, I really want to know what I'm getting and how it's warrantied. Guess I'd need to find some reviews.
