Title: Graphic artists? Wanna help with tshirt design?
Post by: PeteSC on November 15, 2005, 06:41:43 PM
Cafepress is now offering Black tshirts.

  The design parameters include:
  10x10 inch max dimensions
Should be on a transparent background, transparent areas are BLACK
.jpg format, or more advanced stuff OK....may have to be changed.
   2-300 dpi
The shirt will be printed on one side, only....either front or back.

If anyone wants to give a shot at coming up with a 'BBS' tshirt design, go for it!     If we can use it, I'll give you a free shirt.

The shirts will be priced around $20, plus shipping.

I'd like to see some depiction of a Bandit, the URL of Bandit Alley, and a mention of the BBS.
Of course, the simpler, the better.......

It would be nice to have shirts available by Xmas.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the major wrinkle.

They won't allow direct photographic representations of a Bandit.
I've been through this before with them.   SPent hours putting together graphics, sold them for a few months, then 'somebody', probably ALSO selling Bandit shirts, complained, and they yanked the images.

Even though we OWN the bikes, we don't OWN the right to make money from selling images of them.....somehow.
I would need to get a release from Suzuki to sell shirts with direct images of Bandits on them.

I CAN get away with graphic derivatives of Bandits.   If you remember, most of the rally shirts have a bandit on them, kind of cartoon like.
   This seems OK.
SO........I'll work on some fresh stuff that will work on a black backgroud, and anyone with design skills.....feel free!

Also...the screen shot of the BBS on a white shirt would be cool.

Wow - it's fun following this topic in two threads!
 :duh:

I think it would be cool to have a picture of a guy that LOOKS like a bandit, ya know, someone that's sweaty and steals stuff.  I came up with that idea all by myself.  HONEST!

I happen to run a silkscreen printing shop.  Would entertain designing a shirt and printing for much less than $20 a pop.

I would just ask that everyone vote on a basic concept, so that I have a direction to design.  Anyone that has any worries about me working out of my garage making t-shirts should go here, and check out a few proof for clients.

I liked the old N model wheelie with the 'Cruisers are for when you can't get it up' on it.  My old one is starting to get worn out.

I envision a BIG bike like one of these on the back and a smaller logo over the left side of chest. The actual complete logo has yet to be voted upon.

Whatever the graphics end up being.......can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have white shirts available ??
I'm not an HD wanker so I refuse to wear a black tee-shirt....
or pretty much black anything. Black always reminds me wayyyy too much of funerals, the HA, wannabes and other bad things. I know black is THE colour of the new millenium but I'm just not buying into that whole thing.
Sorry, but that's my .02 worth......

And of course we all know that HA wannabes would be wearing strictly nothing but red and white T shirts. :duh:

Black Ts look like either Concert Ts or H-D Ts, so I agree, some other color.   Plus black makes this very pale skinned guy look like a corpse.

On the other hand, white always looks like either and undershirt or they get ratty and grey quickly.

I suppose the answer is to have them in a couple choices...black because it's so popular, and a couple other choices.  I like grey, which isn't real common, and then maybe something like burgundy and navy.  Those colors seems to go with anything (jeans, leathers, etc.).

It's really taken two years to sort this thread out?

I personally like either black or navy.

Well, just be happy it's not a KTM, or we'd be looking at bright orange, and look like road construction people! :)

I was thinking that we might try to make the tshirt logos available at one of those online stores, and anyone can pick whatever color they want.  Of course, if Deepink were to respond and let us know he's still running his shop, we might have to pick a few colors... :)

I like taupe,... but I'm not sure how many of you guys here will know what that color is,.. based on how many times I get told something like, "wtf is taupe?  It's either brown, white, grey, or black, right?"

I think the only reason it took so long, is that Pete got too busy to follow up on it.  I don't even remember ever seeing this thread before.

in agreement Pete, I will try to make some design where they appear Bandit, the BBS and Alley, only I need a little free time and we will see that it is.

We have some cartoons of bandits made by some friends of the Spanish Bandit Club that will be to serve. Like these...
