You know, that really does look like F-U-N and I even like the orangey color!
-
IF it were available here
IF it was a white/blue one
IF it was the Wes Cooley Replica
(http://motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/gsx14-cooleyreplica-md.jpg)
(or add a GS1000S copy bikini fairing - which I actually like better than the one on the GSX1400WCR)

But the big one:
IF it outperformed the B12.
If crash damage ever causes me to consider converting to a naked, I'd probably give my B12 a white & red WCR look...

-
So go buy one and bring it over.
-
Test rode one before I bought the B12. Great bike but more of a handful than the B12. To me the B12 has a more useable mid range and is better in the corners. Must say that the top end of the 1400 is mind blowing and just seems to be endless.
-
Road tests from England indicated the top end is a bit slower than a Bandit 1200 and quarter miles times also slower.
Maybe the mid range grunt is better -- it should be with more ccs.
-
It looks too much like Honda to me. :stickpoke:
-
I`ll take one :bigok:
-
Can someone POSSIBLY explain to me why the richest country in the world... with probably the EASIEST import restrictions... doesn't get all the bike models that are available? :duh:
-
Good question... near as I can figure, the US importers only want to bring in the models they can sell LOTS of.
Why can't they order in other models they're afraid would collect dust in warehouses - like Yamaha does with the FJR. There are several models I've seen Americans on this and other boards wish they could buy, but can't. The GSX1400, Yamaha MT-01 & TDM, Kawasaki ZRX-S, etc...
-
Inexperienced riders don't rush to the dealer in the US to buy a cool 'standard'. They want a sportbike, or cruiser.
They want what somebody down the block is riding. Standards don't have much 'cool' factor to the ignorant.
-
I think standards are the most totally cool bike...they are exactly what I think of when I close m eyes and think "motorcycle".
In the exhibit, my favorite cluster of bikes is the 78 Honda CBX, the 82 Suzuki Katana, and the 76 Honda Goldwing (plus the 77 H-D XLCR) because they all look so "motorcyclish". The same great look that the nekkid Bandido has.
Most of the people who come through the exhibit sort of glaze over and run out when they reach the '84 Ninja, because that's the beginning of shrouding the bikes in so much plastic that there's nothing to see. They don't stop again until they reach the '04 HD V-Rod, because it's the 1st thing that you can actually see "motorcycle".
-
I hated the Goldwing when it came out in late '74, but would like a naked GL1000, now.
I think most of us over 40 can appreciate the standards. They've progressed, but still are 'raw' motorcycles.
-
That half fairing is ug-ly! Just like the one on my old CZ 125, took it off straightaway. And they're on the Kwak ZX1200 Eddie Lawson rep.
GSX1400 IMO looks better than the B12, but it should have the power to match. Love Suzuki blue and white

I agree...my buddy has the ZRX-1100, and I can get over the green and purple color scheme, but that little plastic box with a headline in the middle is just pretty.

This is the bike I want
http://www.aprilia.com/portale/eng/tuono1000r_3.phtml
-
For a "naked" bike, the Tuono sure doesn't show much of its motor - which I don't particularly care for.

OTOH, it's performance and wicked looking tail are :bigok: in my book.
Yet for what I want out of a bike, the Futura is the Aprilia for me... just too bad it's been discontinued.
-
I've been fortunate to have ridden all the 02 model Aprilias (Aussie releases anyway) when my wife worked for the local dealer.
My pick, if I could only have one bike, was the Capanord, and in fact had they (the dealer) got the Aprilias in store 2 months earlier I would have bought one instead of the Bandit.
But for sheer excitement on the road, the Tuono gets my vote.
