Desolation:  Because I can't think of a proper rebuff I will fall back on:

"OH, YEAH??"

BTW, I really resent those snide remarks about me not working...I can remember just last month I worked really hard for a bit, there....had to go home and put my feet up afterwards...

Honestly, I can't understand what the heck is the problem about waving at Harley guys. I wave at them all the time and I'd say a good 90% of them wave back. Here's what I've noticed: When I had my '85 Shadow, which looks kind of like a Harley, more Harley guys waved back then sport bike guys, and I inititiated the wave. In riding the Bandit, more sport bike guys wave then Harley guys. But most Harley guys do wave. So who's really doing the snubbing here, Hmmmmm? C'mon dudes. Get off it. Just wave regarless of whether they wave back or not. We're all in this together. "Keep your stick on the ice".

Most riders wave whether I am the initiator or the responder.  Some HD-types don't wave and you do get a sense that they have a stick up their @ss instead of on the ice.  And sometimes you can't wave, you are waiting to make a turn or otherwise engaged.  The "crouch" rocket set don't wave when they are stopped, they rev at ya.  And nobody seems to wave on bike nite, which is fine, I don't want to build up too big a muscle in one arm.  (There are other activities which can cause the same problem!)

OK, I've decided that waving to strangers is an anachronism in this day and age.  Not to mention so many bikes out there.

I vote we discontinue  :stop:  the fruity waving thing and keep our hands where they belong!  Who's with me?!!

But then I'd have to ride with one hand stuck inside the wasteband of my pants!

You guys are too deep for me!  Anyway, I've started nodding at everybody and that seems better.  A definite downward motion of the helmet indicates awareness of the other rider, but also your SUPERIORITY!
