Hi Andy here just signed up little about myself. From fife, love my bikes.Recently had my foot fused due to bike crash 5 years ago.But not put me off bikes as i am looking for a bandit 12 now.As i am sick of the 25 year old things that i have been running about on.Ihave just came into a bit of money and have 2g to spend on bandit 12.Can anyone let me know how it handles.how reliable are they, and what is the best pipe to have on it.(louder the better). cheers Andy
-
Handles pretty good, but will do better with upgraded shock, fork spings, etc.
Reliability is top notch if you do proper routine maintenance. 100K miles is common, 200K miles is not unheard of and there's been at least one known case of one lasting well beyond 300K (AFAIK, it's still out there, just the owner's new bike gets ridden more often now).

For the value and reliability, it is a hard bike to beat.
have 2g to spend on bandit 12
Not saying that it isn't posible to find one for $2K or less, but it may be quite a tasking.

Since Andy lists Kirkcaldy for a location and closes with "cheers" I'm guessing that's the Kirkcaldy in Scotland. (Is there another one somewhere?)
So, UK£2000 (~US$3550) may be a little easier to do.
:beers:

yeah from kirkcaldy in scotland the langtoun its called. cheers for all the replies :thanks:

That makes more sense. I didn't catch the location before. :duh:

I reckon you would find something around that price, with all the poms just south of you, Bandits seem to be a bit like assholes everybodys got one. I read the streetfighter mag, and by the features and the adds, it would seem that Bandits are pretty thick on the ground. Even check across the channel too, seems even the mainland euro's like them too.
Good luck. Pipes take your pick, one might be 0.5% better in top end, with a cost of 30% more. Shop around there is heaps over in the UK for bandits, Blueflame, Micron, Remus, Yoshi, Arrow, and list goes on and on.

cheers for the info i want a bandit will have one but i like the sv1000 to not sure think bandit wins any info of hard drivers of these bikes please let me know. cheers, andy.
-
When it came time to buy my bandit, I was looking at a SV1000 and thought pretty hard about it.

After seeing most decent B12s in the Trader going for $4K here, I went with a new 2003 from the dealer for $5200 fully financed by Suzuki ($100/mo.).
