Put on a leather jump suit after some one else has spent the day sweating in it?.......sounds like a good time to me....NOT!
On the other hand...a track day would be fun just not 800 miles away from me. If I were to travel to a track it would be something like Lagouna Seka. {I know I didn't spell it right}.

B12 has the right idea...there is also Barbers and a smaller (cheaper) track near Talledega, AL, but is great fun.  It's know as Little Talledega to the WERA folks, but it's officially the Talledega Grand Prix track.

If you combine it with a BOSS rally, you could have that at TWO in North GA and do the track day for those who are interested at Road Atlanta.....

I guess it doesn't have to be at R.A., but that the only place I can think of that's got a track near good riding areas.
Maybe 29Dreams and Talladega/Barber would be an option.

Or VIR isn't too far from where we were last year in Meadows of Dan or Pete has been talking about having BOSS in WV which can't be too far from Summit.

Well,  Jay has the hookup, and local knowledge at Nelson.
What do you need, Jay, 20 people or so?
ROad Atlanta has to be like $5000 a day, or more.
I think Tally GP is probably half of that.
  Roebling Road is cheaper yet.

 Jennings is probably reasonable also.

Jay is willing to try to pull this off...so let him run with it!

I definately would like to see it tied in with BOSS 06, and WV sounds pretty good. I can see it now "can you drag a knee on a bandit?"  "No, but at the BOSS rally I saw roamr dragging a tent on turn 4!" :monkeymoon:

i was just thinking nelsons for that fact that you can camp out and for those that couldnt come for the 2 days im sure could travel up on friday and ride on saturday! What i was gonna do was if we had enough people interested we could call with a tootal to some track day peeps and ask what kind of deal can we get if this many peeps show up and can we get some special assistance! Nelsons would be no problem as i could talk to BOB and im sure he would be glad to take our money , plus we could all get together cook out have a fire and bench race about the whole day over some nice cold ones! I no you all are liking your lips AHHHH racing and cold brew afterwards . Now thats relaxation!!! LOL :beers:

20 peeps would be good, but if your gonna just rent the whole track that would be sweet GOOD thinking Pete you the MAN! I was more of thinking that maybe a track day company like promotion or nesba or sportbike track time might hook us up with enough peeps ready to preregister!

What's the fee to rent Nelson for the day?  What Ambulance costs, etc?

The last I hear, you could do Roebling for like $2000 for a week day, as long as less than 10 people were on the track at a time, you didn't need an ambulance.
Just threw that out for cost comparison.

Pete,
I know where you are going with that, but there is no way I'm doing a track day without an ambulance.

+1 on that.

NESBA isn't an option, I wouldn't think.  You can't ride with them without paying the $75 membership fee which would kill any group discount you negotiated.  AFAIK, Team Promotion isn't running Neson anymore.  They can't fill spots there.  I don't know about STT.

I wasn't talking about all those organizations at Nelsons. I got Nelsons covered!

Heres the deal - We could have a official "BANDIT ALLEY TRACK DAY AT NELSONS LEDGES OHIO" on any weekday; Mon, Tues or Thursday. Whatever everone's prefrence would be!

I suggest Monday, as who likes them anyway?
What better way to spend a MONDAY than on a race track with your bike?!
We could have a cookout for lunch (everyone chip in). I also suggest Monday cause those who have to travel could camp out Sunday night at the track free of charge. If this works, if ya get there early enough on Sunday ya might get to watch the sprint races!

What we would need is 3 month advance notice of date. And 20-30 riders ready to pre-register! The cost would be $200.00 for the whole day 9-4:00 with a mini school for those that need it included!  Various groups for different skill level, too! Loads of fun!

What do you think? :beers:

Sounds great! Too bad it so far away for me.

What's up with Wednesdays? Why are they not available?
