Title: Husqvarna STR 650 CRC
Post by: Russtang on January 24, 2007, 06:02:46 PM
Anyone fall in love with this supermoto showed at the Milan 2006 show?  Or just me?

65 horsepower single with a 250lb dry weight sounds like fun to me!

Here's a LINK (http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4649) to a MVAgusta forum with more pics and discussion.

Here's a Youtube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcawMP-EdWs)

Holy crap! That DOES look and sound like fun!  The whole supermoto thing is appealing to me.

If I am not mistaken they want a fortune for any of those italiano MVAgusto type bikes. Albiet they make up pretty, I would just settle for a DRZ400SM for $5400 OTD and install a 470 kit for $400, about 60 HP.

I don't like the styling of the front of the bike, especially the headlight. The low front fender makes the long forks look a little chopperesque to me. If the fender was a high mount - like most SM bikes, it would probably look a lot better to me.

When it comes to SM bikes, I like the looks of the Aprilia SXV450/550.  :bigok:

And I think I'd like the music of the Aprilia's V-twin over that of a thumper.  :beers:

The Aprillia is a nice looking bike, better than the Husky. When funds & life allow the luxury of an expanded stable, then I'll worry about which one to choose.

I really like the looks of it.  Definitely different.  Hopefully Husky won't charge an arm and a leg if/when they actually produce this.

All the specs say it is a thumper, but I just noticed a 2 into one header.  Inline 2?

It's a thumper. It just has a pipe for each exhaust valve, which is not uncommon on thumpers with 4-valve heads.

Ahhh, that explains it.

Never had a single with 4-valves.  Now that I think of it, almost all of my dirtbikes had no valves at all!

One thing about the Husky, it's got a seat you can actually sit on without causing bodily harm.

Also BMW's X-Moto looks fun too.  324 lbs and 53 HP.  Fun enough. Again, it'll probably be $8K or so.
