I'm so sorry I disappeared on you all after giving the forum over to Senan. I didn't mean to.
2014 sort of turned into a shit show for us - http://www.archaicarcane.com/message-to-myself/. The 919 was written off when a minivan hit Ryan from behind. We're still cleaning that mess up. More than 2 weeks in the hospital and months off work. He has another (hopefully his last) surgery in about 2 weeks for that (ACL, LCL and removing bone chips) and then of course there's the legal side of things. :(
My Blue boy was rebuilt - Ryan and I did it over the winter and had it recertified as Rebuilt- and Ryan got back on in 2015 and we got a fair number of KMs on last summer.
Of course it's winter, so I'm not really in motorcycle mode but another forum I participate on is having some growing pains and I guess I got nostalgic. ;)

Sorry that things got rough for you and yours. Hoping you'll have some peace and smooth sailing for a while to offset the tough times.
-
Thanks Greg! I'm hoping that it's behind us now (the legal end of it is not in our hands so we can ride while it's going on.)
Here's to 2016 being the best yet for everyone. :)

2014? Or 2015?
It sounds pretty terrible either way, but losing two years is a true nightmare.

The whole thing was/is a nightmare. It happened right at the beginning of Aug 2014.
Surgery went well though and it should be the last. He's got another 2 weeks in a brace and hopefully after that he'll start walking without the crutches. (He was off them most of the time between the second surgery in 2014 and this surgery, so it's not all bad)
I'm hoping to get him back on the road by late summer.

Ugh.... worst start ever but we all have our ups and downs. :banghead:
Glad to see you back - wish I was riding more myself.

Oh boy. Is it anything you want to mention publicly?
2016 has sort of been the pits here too but in a different way than 2014. It seems to be getting better though. I hope so for you too!

Pretty much touched every base you can... and just when you think things are getting better along comes something else. One day at a time... :duh:
At least the battery tender and a good dose of Startron allows the bike to sit and then fire right up. Just need to find the time (and focus) to ride.

I hear that! We lost another fur baby in Jan. I got sick just before Ryan's surgery so had to sleep in the studio or risk getting him sick and disqualifying him from the surgery he's been waiting more than 20 months for. There's a group of people breaking into garages in the neighborhood right now (and let our dog out) so we've been installing cameras to do the police's job... "And mannnyyy morrrreeee" ;)
But things seem to be settling down some - slowly. It's exactly what you said though - one day at a time. I'm learning to slow down and not take it personally. It comes in waves - surely both of our waves are nearly past. :)
I haven't been out on the bikes either yet. SeaFoam and battery tenders are my best friends right now too. :duh:

Best thing I've read in a while..... and so true. :thanks:

Well, I do try. ;)

Hey stormi, glad you & Ryan are on your way back to something like "Normal"...
Great to see you posting...I've been pretty slow logging on to check as well. Hope 2016 works out well for you both.

Thanks Paul. I'll try to be around more. I've been busy and I have a furbaby who's needing some of my attention right now but it's still cool enough at least I'm not missing any riding time. ;)
