I sold my DL-1000 Saturday and just went to buy my Bandit and it was gone :yikes:
The Kawi dealer in Elgin IL had this sweet silver 08 with <700 miles. I was sure I could get it for ~$5k. I walked in today and the owner says, "so, did you sell your V-Strom?" I say, "yes." He says, "Oh, I sold that Bandit Saturday for $5k."
He was very nice and appologetic about it. Its not like we had any kind of agreement or anything. Its really my bad. The thing had been sitting there for a while and I figured...who besides me is going to want to buy a Bandit at a Kawi dealer in December. I never even considered that it would sell to someone else.
So now I'm on the hunt. If you know someone that is selling a red or silver B1250 in good condition, point them my way if you will.
Please forgive my little bought of self-pitty here. Just crying into my beer. I was really looking forward to filling the empty spot in my garage with that sweet little Bandit.

Deals come and deals go.... yeah, I'm kicking myself for missing out on a good deal by 4 lousy hours some 6 months later but have to believe something better will come along. Don't dwell on it too hard.

there are Bandits all over the place at good prices. be patient. check cycle trader, ebay, Craig's list .....bet you can find one in less time than to put one back together that's been crashed. :duh:

Late model bikes are like women and city buses. If ya miss this one, there'll be another one along in 20 minutes or so..... :bigok:

I am not quite so depressed. Got all the parts now for the crashed Bandit.
I finally got the bodywork back from the painter. The finish is very nice, the color is perhaps more candy apple than candy maroon. We'll see when it goes together. Also, no decals on the tank, had it painted on- that looks so coool.
Anyway, have all the pieces. Perhaps will be on the road with it before Xmas? :thumb:

Anyway, I'll be glad to provide you with info regarding paint & body.
I'll tell you, it's been drying for a week, it was sooooo shiny, I was afraid to touch it - looked wet. :yikes:

Your not alone,I do it so seldom I have to learn all over again each time.(or have my daughter help me). Same with texting on my phone,I'd have to put my cheap drug store glasses on to see the letters,to much of a hassle and its just easier to talk(and try to hear with my bad ears) :grin:I must be almost old
