Title: I'm going to buy a 01 Bandit.....

The owner swears it does not burn oil.  Should I worry.  I posted this in technical, then realized I should have posted it here.

It has 11K miles, new tires, Givi rack, 2nd owner.  Paying $3500.  

Is this a good deal, seems like it.

I considered a FZ1, but it is more expensive, and WAY more power than I want.

The price seems reasonable. Any maitenance data ? At worst, if it burns oil, you could always upgrade to a big bore kit! Good luck.

Oil changed every 3k miles with Suzuki 10-40.  How often are the valves supposed to be adjusted?

By the book, initially at 600 miles, then 7500 miles and every 7500 miles thereafter. They don't usually change much after 7500 miles though. Personally, I check mine once a year now (~10,000 miles), just to be sure nothing has changed - and it hasn't since 7500. (Last check was at 30K).
