Just wondering if anyone else has had this.
Twice during my recent trip to Canada, I had someone complement me on my 'Ducati'.
Now, in their defense, I had a lot of baggage on my bike...including a tank bag that covered the Suzuki badge.
The first was by a Beemer rider while we waited for the ferry to Manitoulin Island. He said he didn't realize Ducatis came in blue.
The second was by a guy at a gas station in Oklahoma. That was kind of funny. He said he had a Ducati EXACTLY like mine. I guess his was an inline four too! :duh:
Blue Skies,

I've heard of it happening with the B4 since it has a trellis frame around the engine area, but never heard of the biiger ones being mistaken for a Duc.
-
I did have a guy walk up to me once at a gas station and ask me how I liked my BUELL!
When I told him it was a Suzuki, he kind of shook his head, and climbed into a car with a lot of H-D stickers.
I guess you just can't fool real bike experts....

I have had people say my B4 looks similar to a Ducati.

Haha, I get that ALOT with my SV650.

Back in the 90's I used to get alot of guys asking about my Ducati, but lately they just ask if its a HD...haha

Spags. When I had a CZ 125 (ok it DID have BMW tank badges!) some bloke came up to me at a petrol station and asked me if it was one of the old BMW "K" series? Yes, mate.

Hey Bazza, I thought it was the aussie's that did more than thier fare share of the drinkin. :bigdrink: Now much drinking is a lot :bigdrink: . Even legless I can tell the diff between a vtwin and a inline 4. Mind you when the eyes go wonky, I might mistake a V twin for a Vmax
How to piss off a HD rider, ask him how his Vmax is running :gatlin :toofunny:

Zucati :bigok:

That hasn't happened to me, but...
If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me while standing next to my bike, "How big is that? What size engine does it have?", and so forth.

I just smile and say, "Oh, umm, it's a 1200, I think."

People always mistake my 400 for either a Ducati or a 600. The Ducati thing confuses me a little, since it says "Suzuki" right on the gas tank. All the 400 badges have been removed though, so I can't really fault them there... most people don't know that 400cc liquid-cooled 4-bangers were ever made.

I didn't know that 400cc liquid-cooled 4-bangers were ever made!
Oh, maybe clueless people don't pick up on the Suzuki emblem because they think a Ducati is a model! You know, the Suzuki Ducati 400, like the Suzuki Bandit 600, that sort of thing. Hey, if you weren't into motorcycles would you have any clue? Other than knowing that Harley-Davidsons were the best and only big bikes.

That might be it right there! Explains why half the people asking are Squids as well, doesn't it? I rather like this theory.

Feel free to repeat it!
