Title: Joinging the Bandit League with my 1200S
Post by: frank123 on April 18, 2005, 08:05:57 PM

I traded in my old 1985 Honda V65 Sabre at a local dealer with this
2003 Bandit 1200S in perfect condition with 5900 miles. Plus it has the
following mods according to a note provided by the previous owner:

Holeshot B-12 Stage 1 Modified Jet Kit
Holeshot 17" Slip-On
GSX-R Intake Cam
Katana John 1216 Boring & Head Porting
Progressive Fork Springs
Progressive 420 Rear Shock
Steel Braided Front Brake Lines
Holeshot Nerf Bars Engine Case Protector
Front Fender Extender
Gel Grips
Rear Mini Blinker & Bracket kit

I paid $4500. Did I get a good deal? My old Sabre has a blown 2nd grear
so it probably worth nothing to most dealers.

I really like this Bandit. It has tons of torque that I can ride with 5th gear
most of the time even at low speed. The exhaust note is awesom when
rev it over 4000 rpm and the engine is very very powerful. With the
comfortable upright riding position, I could ride all day.

Anyway, I'm really glad to see many Bandit lovers here. It's a awesom site.  :beers:

Smoking deal for a heavily modded, low-mileage, 2003 B-12.  Congrats!

Who was the previous owner?  What was his/her name?

Dave

Damn - I would have done that in a heartbeat!  Especially in silver.  Nice!

Yup, that's around $2000 in aftermarket parts, alone!
If it runs right, you've got a great deal!

Thanks everybody for the replies. Looks like I've got a great deal indeed.
 I am so happy!

The bike runs very strong, but I have not ridden an un-moded B-12,
so can't do any comparison myself.

I can understand most of the mods, but what does a 1216 do?

Thanks! Though I was not told the previous owner's name. I live in Boston
area, so he must be around here, too.

I would be interested to know what his name is... if the guy hooked up with KJ for the head porting and 1216, and bought mostly HS stuff, I'll bet that he/she has been surfing the bandit boards.
