Just got back from the dealership. I ordered a new 1250S in black. I am so stoked! :grin: This is my first post but I have been lurking for awhile. Doesn't seem to be a lot of activity lately. I hope the new bike gets things stirred up around here! If there are any Minnesotan's reading this drop me a line maybe we can go for a ride.

Welcome. How long do you have to wait for delivery?
I purchased an 06 two weeks ago and my is still at the shop waiting for the roads to clear enough to ride.
I don't know which is worse. Waiting for shipping or waiting for a little warm weather.

Yes welcome :grin: I'm looking forward to comparisons between the 06 and 07 bikes...the 06 has everything but the engine/gearbox of the 07.

I would be leary on getting a bike without sitting on it and seeing if it is really something that I would want. I hope it turns out to your liking. :beers:

I have now racked up 1250km on my K6 and it certainly is a very different bike to my K1 (which I still have). Yeah!! Greedy uh?
I will be interested to see waht the xtar CC and the fuel injection does for the K7
I promised some pics, but the missus hasnt got her web site going yet - but they are coming

My bike is supposed to be in late January to early Feb. Great time to get a new bike in Minnesota! :sad: My wife and I are gonna make a trip to Texas in March and give the new girl a proper break in. Might be a little chilly until we get through Iowa. I figure after 3000 miles in 5 days we'll know if we like the new bike or not! As far as buying the bike without sitting on it, I am a little concerned about that myself. But I like the 02-05 1200S and from everything I've read Suzuki just messed with the stuff that needed to be messed with. Besides if your in the market for a torquey 4 holer that doesn't weigh a ton and you can still ride two up comfortably I think the new Bandit is about it! By the way my current bike is a 84 Honda Nighthawk 650, so I don't think I'm gonna be dissapointed with the new Bandito! :grin:

Darn shame that I won't be in Texas during that time. When I get back in January, I am moving to Phoenix, AZ.

Welcome Welcome. Just don't go to Houston, there aren't too many nice roads to ride on. I sat on the 07 1250S at a bike show and didn't notice too much of a different feel. They look real similar also. I guess it is hard to tell the feel of a bike until you get it down the road.

Did you order the snow tires? And don't forget those special Texas Tornado tires for March.
Do I sound like one of those wimpy fair weather riders? Hey, don't get me wrong. Even tho my 06 is all packed away warm and dry for the winter, I still dream of those years of shivers that only a half a bottle of Scotch will shake and knuckles so frozen that they'd have to be pried off the bars. Ah...spent youth. Lol.

Even though its none of my business this is the forum to ask the question. So what did you pay for the bike "out the door", if I my be so bold?
To bad you have wait for the bike then wait for spring almost 6 months before a brake in. I am sure any of the sunshine state member here would be willing to have it delivered to them (me included) conduct a complete and comprhensive break and testing for you free, then drop it back off to you in March LOL.

I paid $8377 OTD. That included 6.5% MN sales tax and MN state lic. fees. I never even shopped anyone but my local dealer in Elk River, MN. They are a bunch of great guys and I really don't care if I give'm an extra couple C-notes.

I saw the new Bike at the Ft Worth Show yesterday. It's a step up as far as fit & finish over the older Bandits. Ergos were typical Bandit. This one had ABS. No one knew the power figures, one Suzi guy said it will have more than the older bikes, another guy said they get the horsepower figures from CycleWorld test(!).
You can see that the frame is beefed up. The fork legs seem much sturdier -at least on this ABS bike. The water hoses are noticeable but not really intrusive like some converted sport bikes engines. Perhaps Suzi designed a new water cooled engine to make a better looking naked bike? The clutch effort was pretty mild (at least compered to my Gen 1 with a Barnett Spring).
I'll be very interested how the new bike rides. I almost bought a new FZ-1 until I read the reviews (and really couldn't find one for a price at a dealer). If the new Badnit ups the performance along with refinement, I'll be interested.

It seems we must be catching up to the rst of the world though. My K6 cost $nz12775 which at the present excahnge rate equates to around $us8470. That also included 12.5% sales tax (GST) and on road costs. I thought that was pretty good :wink:

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL JANUARY, WHEN THE BIKE SHOW COMES TO MY AREA.....AND I WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE NEW BANDIT IN PERSON.....
I LOVE THE CHANGE IN THE HEADLIGHT AND TAIL SECTION.....I THINK THAT I WILL LOVE THE PERFORMANCE AS WELL.....
I WONDER IF THE WATER COOLING SYSTEM WAS REALLY NECESSARY.....THERE IS SOMETHING NICE ABOUT AN AIR COOLED ENGINE, THAT REMINDS ME OF THE BIKES OF THE 1970'S.....

I was quoted $10,500.00 (CAD) for the 2007 Bandit with ABS which is a $2000.00 increase over the 2006 Bandit that was sold here in Canada.

The ABS does add a couple of grand. Interestingly enough, when I bought mine, the opinion was that ABS is not reccomended for sport riders who actually lean hard into corners and break hard. That was good enough for me and I saved some money. I think my breaks are just fine.

My price is $7749, but that's before taxes which will be around $400. Here we pay the taxes at the DMV when we apply for the title. Or I have the option of the ABS for $8149, if it should arrive first. I'm not sure about the ABS, I do like to brake hard into corners and I hear that could be an issue.
Also we are fortunate to have decent riding weather all year around, if you don't mind 40's-50's and the occasional sleet. Not much snow though.
I'll definitely let you know when mine arrives, I can harldy wait... :congrats:

I paid $7800.00 before any tax or license, so sounds like we got a similar deal. I am so stoked to get my new bike. I can't wait to feel the roll on urge in that big 4 banger! I gotta feeling my days downshifting two gears to pass are over! :grin: I wish some more info. would get printed about the bike. If you hear any new info. let me in on it!

You scared me so I called my dealer and asked again, she assures me it will be here in January. I have a deposit down on it. But just to ,ake sure, I told her I'll take the ABS model if it should arrive first, so I'm covered!
I haven't been able to find a damn thing on the '07's either. It looks like we'll be among the first ones to ride it. I'm looking forward to doing some "pioneering" on experimenting with the new Bandit, the exhaust especially.
Yeah, I like black, but I can live with the steel blue color too, as long as I like the ABS... otherwise I'm sure there'll be a way to disable or remove it.

ZillaX... you know, if we get our bikes in time, there's a couple guys planning on a trip to Mexico on their V-Stroms and they'll be coming through sometime in the middle of March. They invited me to ride along with them as far as Texas, where I'll be splitting off and heading west to Phoenix.
If you wanted, maybe we could all meet up here for the ride to Texas? It's on the way for you... I'm in south-central Missouri. It would be a great way to break in our new bikes and compare notes... and have a lot of fun doing it.
In fact anyone interested can PM me if you wanna ride along. I think they were talking about March 17th or 19th... whichever is on the weekend.

Have you heard anything else about the arrival date of your new bike? My dealer is still pretty short on definitive answers.

Yeah, I was at the dealers the other day bugging them and I was shown their order sheets. According to that, the ABS model is due to appear on the showroom floors this month (Jan). The standard "S" models show late March or April, even though they ordered it back in November.
If you're the impatient type like me, you may want to consider switching your deposit to an ABS model... it's only $400 more and it's due out this month. I have my deposit on whichever one comes in first, which is most likely the ABS.
I've thought and talked about the ABS over and over, and I'm going to go ahead with it. If anything, it'll improve the resale value, and just might come in handy. And I do like the steel blue color... :bigok:
Today's my birthday... it would be nice to get a phone call from the dealer today, huh? It's only 27 degrees out but who cares! :banana:

ZillaX, in response to your question, yes. I've just heard from my dealer that she expects the standard black model that she ordered before Xmas to arrive within the next two weeks.
I had expected the ABS model to arrive first, which would be OK with me. Just another $400 and the blue color. But it's looking like it'll bethe black one now.
If I were you I'd give your dealer a call. I wish us both luck, it would be a lot of fun if our bikes got here in time to make that trip to Texas in March, huh? :bigok:
