i about came unglued  thats for full coverage on my 00 b 12 s what`s norm out there . my wife thinks i`m full of it when i told her that`s way above avg . M

That sounds really high but it greatly depends on your record and where you are. Shop around. Some insureres look strictly at displacement while others consider the type of bike. Let us know where you are and maybe someone from your state or area can give you a lead on a cheaper insurer.

yah... any help would be appreciated i have one ticket 3 years ago for 10 over thats it. 40 yrs old in petersburg Mi .49270

That is highway robbery!!!!! :bs: I am 33 and use progressive as my insurance provider on my 03 B12. I have full coverage and pay less than $400 dollars a year!!! The people quoting you obviously don't know there butt from a hole in the ground..... Bandits make the sport touring class which makes them cheaper than supersports.
-
thank`s . i`m on that first thing . M

I got the same bike as you and I'm in TX
550 bucks per year for full coverage...
-
$1600.00 for insurance!!
I'm not up to speed with the exhange rate but even on Rating 3 I only pay $A580.00.
-
Yeah. That's way too high. SHop around, and also get a quote for a high deductible, like $1000.
-
I have a 99 B12 with state farm, I pay about $350/yr. I live in the Chicago Area.
-
You might want to check out Dairyland. I have full coverage on my '02 Bandit and liability only on my '04 R1. Just renewed for another year for $480 for both. That's with a multiple-bike discount and discount for taking the MSF ERC.

Have your insurance co look up rates according to the VIN or try GSF1200/S. I too was quoted a similar amount when the agent looked up Bandit 1200/S. I asked why so much, and she said it's a sportsbike. On a whim she looked up GSF1200/S, at a much lower rate.

I got quotes from nationwide (with whome I have a car, a truck and my house), state farm (who I shopped the above coverage to) Geicko and progressive. The last two I did their online quotes, and Progressive blew them all away....much less money for much more insurance coverage.
Both Progressive and Geicko have online, real-time quotes. very convenient and fast....plus, it allows you to change line-item details and see how it affects your cost. Interestingly, 50/100/50 coverage cost exactly the same as 300/500/300!
It's free, it's easy. I printed up my online quote for my car and truck and will be taking them to my nationwide agent tomorrow. "Beat their price or lose my business".

Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
Must be a long match...

Yikes... I got full coverage from State Farm on an '03 1200s (500/500/250) for $281 every 6 months. 35, no accidents or tickets; but I also have a car with full coverage with them.
-
state Fram was the best price I found as well aroud $450 for full covrage $100.00 comp and col. but you have to have a car with state fram to get the motercycle insruance with them at least in ohio and that was for a 97 b1200 and a 84 700 shadow and two riders
-
I'm 23 and this is the first bike I have owned and through gmac full coverage is $656/yr. I'm thinking with you being 40, even with a ticket showing it should still be way less than me.
-
well after a little calm (haha)dicussion with my agent i got it for 377 dolla and a 400 dolla reduction on my auto policy`S which i had asked for a copy of so my(potential new ) agent could peruse lol :thanks:
-
Glad you got it resolved. 377 is about right. The 400 less on the auto is a nice bonus.

:crybaby: :banghead: :soapbox: :crackattack: :rant2: :taz: :argue: :wtf:
I got a quote of $1000 for my B12 in Toronto. I don't know what goes on south of the border but up here it's a complete load of horse kak. I think it's time for a little revolt.
The liability should be all about the rider and not about the machine. Any arguments here should be directed to the "favorite crashes" links.
The truth is that those few idiots are carried by the rest of us. I'd be okay with that if I could beat the horse kak out of the next kid I see doing a wheelie or a brake stand. I read a comment by someone here about it being none of anyone elses business but I'm not sure that's true. I think it's about time for freedom and responsiblity to be connected.
Oh ya! that was as good as a bowel movement. I just wish it meant something.
