WABASHA, Minn. - A Stillwater man who was stopped after authorities clocked his motorcycle driving at 205 mph is in jail after allegedly violating his probation.

Samuel Armstrong Tilley, 21, was stopped last September and charged with speeding, reckless driving and not having a motorcycle endorsement.

Tilley was arrested again Thursday in Washington County. Court officials say he violated the terms of his probation, which include completing 200 hours of community service and maintaining contact with his probation officer. Tilley pleaded guilty in December to speeding and not having a motorcycle endorsement.

Authorities said he had been driving 205 mph when he was stopped, though severl motorcycle experts have disputed whether it was possible for him to reach that speed.

Sam Tilley, 21, failed to report to his probation officer, and there is no record of his having paid the $125 fine or performing the 200 hours of community service as ordered during his December sentencing, Wabasha County court officials say.

Tilley did not appear at a March 24 hearing to explain himself, so a judge issued an arrest warrant. He was picked up early Thursday, after Woodbury police pulled him over in a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora.
