Cool article!  Unfortuately, you wouldn't see a comparo like that in the states.  The bandit following in your neck of the woods is much stronger.  I wish I was there to enjoy that!!

We could do one here, I'm gonna look for a dyno shop and see what my B-12 does. My Butt-O-Meter guesses around 120 RWHP and 80 ft/lbs torque. Should be interesting.

Hi

Cheers.

But only 144hp, hence I want more power.

Now to fit the flatslides. Which will no doubt destroy the current good fuel consumption I enjoy.

All the best

Keith

I have 38 mm flatsides, and I get 35/38 mpg, according to how I'm riding.

Hi

Currently getting about 46~47mpg (imperial gallons, not US gallons). When the engine was tuned the fuel consumption improved slightly  .

Current aim is to get a genuine 170mph out of it without a fairing.

All the best

Keith

We have the Texas Mile, here in Texas. I plan to run it at least once next year. I am hoping to push 180 mph. When my bike was dynoed, I had stock GSXR cams, it made its peak horsepower at 9,800 rpms, but was above 150 hp from 8,700rpms, until it hit thr rev-limiter at 10,500. I now have Cammotion G21 cams, .380 lift, that should give me a little more hp at higher rpms. I will have it dynoed agin before I go run the mile and if need be, I will put the GSXR cams back in. :beers:

Hi

I think I need a decent dyno run with a note taken of indicated vs real rpm, and also have a play with the gearing.

Trying to avoid a fairing at the moment. Trying to keep it looking fairly standard.

All the best

The only reason I dynoed my bike was to get the air/fuel ratio reading, but the whole chart can be very helpful info for tuning, especially for cam setting.

Well if you guys get bored ever of keep going up and up in the horsepower figures you could always tune it down to 75HP like that other poor guy had it. It's more "safe"! What about that bandit safety shootout they've been promising!!!!!! "All new BanditAlley members get their bike down to an unbelievable 3.7 HP at 10,000 RPM!!! 147 miles per....................gallon!!
2005 Bandit 1200, Modified Holeshot Stage 1 with 17.5 pilots 2.75 turns out, and 110 mains 5 shims. Muzzy Slip on w/mid-pipe, stock filter. 1.5" hole in the airbox lid.

I have the Dyna shift light, the lowest setting is 6,000 rpms. When the light comes on, the Tach is reading 6,250, as best as I can tell. At 6000 rpms, in 5th gear, with my gearing, I am going 108. The speedometer is at 115. I am running 15/43sprockets. The tach and the speedo are off a little.
