I have logged 95,000 miles on my previous and current bandit in the last 6-7 years. Before that I rode very minimal, maybe 20,000 miles on old honda cb 750's and nighthawks. So my total in just about 120,000 miles. I still feel fairly in-experienced compared to some veterans. How much have you ridden?

I've 7 motorcycles since '72. I'd be surprised if I put 100k on all the bikes put together.
-
I logged around 100k from when I was 17 until now, 28 years old. Sadly only 9000 since I met my wife 5 years ago. But at least I rode my ass off before that!! It was so nice having no one burglarize my time.

Man.......... Ya know I have not really thought about it...I will have to do some thinking about it, I started riding in 1965 and have 5 motorcycles now. BUT 3 of them are ΒΌ at a time only on Sunday
I will set my computer in Cray mode and let ya all know :bigok:

I started riding in 65 (borrowed bikes from friends) and bought my first in 71.
The 100k mile mark is stuck in my mind for 1974. My highest milage for a year was 54K. I pretty much quit tabulating milage at about 4-500k. That was 15- 20 years ago. I average about 25-30k per year. We can call it 500k if you want. Its probably closer to about 800k. It could be closer to 1M. Hell, I dont know. :-) Its a lot of rear tires anyway. eheheheheh

I started out very young, had to start off the front step when I couldn't touch the ground yet. Logged in lots of trail miles growing up and lots of miles on the local TT track growing up. Then a bunch of miles every fri night on a 1/3 mile track in Batavia,NY a 1/2mile track in PA. Short track in Salem,OH. and a bit of motoX. Started my road miles when I turned 16, but never really owned a street bike till I was 'bout 30. Mostly comuting miles on a GS1000L to a GSX1100G to the 98 Bandit I have now.
By now my road miles would have passed up my trail&track miles @ 50yrs.old starting out at about 6. 4K so far this yr. I figure in @ the 100,000-200,000 group. Dan

I have lost count of the number of bikes that I have owned since getting my license as a 15 year old in 1983. In the early days all I had for transport was a motorcycle. On average I clocked up around 20,000 a year but had almost a ten year break from bikes late ninteys untill two years ago (you know, wife kids etc). I estimate having traveled between 160,000 and 180,000 on bikes.
I still prefer to ride a bike over driving a car.
Still learning and loving it.

1 motorcycle. 24,000 miles. 3.5 years.

I'm not really sure, but i know I logged over 25,000 as a motorcycle messenger in Washington DC. Stupidest job in the world -- 100-150 miles per day in all kinds of weather (yes, really, ALL kinds) in a mix of dense urban, suburban and highway traffic. Sure fire way to get hurt, but you do learn fast. That was all on a '82 gs450.

I started riding when I was 22 ( out of college, could buy my own bike.)
'92 Seca II - 38,500mi
'87 VFR700 - 8,000mi
'92 VFR750 - 69,900mi
'00 Busa - 30,500mi
'00 DR650 - 3,000mi
'91 CBR600-3,000mi
'97 Blandit- -3,500mi and counting
The Seca II, VFR750 and Busa were my only new bikes.
From 1992-2002, I commuted to work extensively by bike... and I didn't have kids for the first few years outta college, so I rode a lot.
I beat the VFR mercilessly everyday, abusing the clutch to get a first gear wheely, always running into rev-limiter, many times a day.
I only replaced two headlight bulbs, and a nylon washer around the speedometer pickup. It was unfreakingstoppable.
Come to think of it, none of my bikes have had any issues beyond a headlight or taillight. Pretty remarkable for how little I maintain them.

my '68 Honda CL90 had about 7k miles
my '81 Yam Seca 550 had about 45k miles
my 98 Bandit has about 53k miles
I've borrowed, rented & ridden other bikes for who knows how many miles. So more than 100k miles from 1967 until now.....since I was 13 years old. And I didnt ride from the time I was 16 until 26, that's prime for many guys, but just didnt have the time or monthy.

Wow, I never considered this! Hmmmm...
I'm guessing 20,000 miles max. But it's just a guess. I drove a '73 GT250 for awhile, but I'm having a brain hemorrage and can't remember if my parents sold it the next year for the down payment on a car for me, or if I kept it until I bought my '78 GS750E. That's sad, man! I can't remember if I had that 250 for 1 year or 5 years. That's just how much I put bikes out of my mind after I sold my '80 Lowrider in '81. That was such a bad experience I've blocked my motorcycle memories almost completely! Then I went 23 years bikeless and interested only in cars.
This is gonna drive me nuts trying to remember what I did back then! Gee, thanks! :thanks:

Im a n00b compared to you guys. This is my 2nd season. Since dirt miles dont count, I put about 3-4k on my 79 GS750 before it crapped out because of some unknown disease (4 months of work, and its still FUBAR). I got pissed and bought my B12 just over a week ago, and already have over 500 miles on it. :bigok:

Well I am one of those that did not get a chance to start riding until I had Kids. Started out with one kid and got 5k in that year. In the next season we had twins and I was only able to log 2k followed by a 3k season. Last year we had #4 and did about 3k more just riding back and forth to work. Got the b12 this year and have logged just over 2k. Not as many as I would like but, never get a chance to go out for much more than a few hours at a time. One day those 5k trips are on the way.

You, Pete & me should do a cigar poll? count me down to 3-4 smokes a week.

Ive put about 40,000 miles on a combination of two bikes : 1986 Honda Intercepter 500 (1992-1995) and a 1996 Suzuki Bandit 600s (2002-present). I ride all 4 seasons

well lets see. i had about 9k on my 95 katana when i got rid of it, i put 20k on my 97 gsxr in 18 months, before i had my kids. rode all the time. put about 7k on a magna i had for one summer. had almost 30k on my 00 bandit 1200 before i wadded it. and have 32000 on my triple now. so i would have to say close to 100k in 10 years or so of riding. i commute alot now. dont do as many long rides as i did before kids.

I figure somewhere over 180,000 miles. I put about 16,000 on my '80 GS450S, 106,000 on my '85 Nighthawk S, 36,000 on my Bandit so far, 13,000 on my KLR, somewhere over 10,000 on my wife's bikes and my other bikes. Between 18 to 22-24 years of age, I rode alot. I almost never went very far, but I rode alot. After that I mostly just commuted year 'round which didn't add up to much, because I live town. I finally started sport-touring in 2002, but I don't do hardly any local riding except commuting. In contrast, I only put about 5000 miles on my truck in the past 6 years! Of course, whenever I go somewhere with my wife, and I can't talk her into riding, we usually take her car.

Hmmm....a head-scratcher, this is.
My brother-in-law's 1963 Honda Cub step-through ~2000 miles (yes, they WERE painful)
My first bike, a new 1965 Honda Benly 150 ~ 6000 miles (a great little bike)
My second bike, a new 1967 Honda Dream 305 ~10,000 miles (and what an evil handling brute it was, after riding the Benly)
My third bike, a new 1970 Honda CB750K0 ~30,000 miles (I've never lusted after anything like I did for that Honda, before or since....even including the women in my life  )
Various dirt bikes (all Suzukis) that I rode from 1974 until I got back into street biking in 1988 ~5000 miles (Yeah, I know, I really shouldn't count the miles on dirt bikes.....rather maybe 5000 HOURS..... )
My fourth bike, a "brand new" 1976 Suzuki GT550 (bought in 1988) which currently has ~6000 miles on it (when I got it, it had 660....yes 660....miles on it)
My fifth bike, an all original 1982 Suzuki GS750E which I bought in 1998 and which was a very faithful steed ~ 30,000 miles. I'm still sorry I sold it, but I just didn't have the room for it AND the new Bandit.
My sixth bike, a totally rebuilt 1973 Kawi H2A, ~ 8, 000 miles since putting it back on the road in 2002 (yes, these were painful miles too)
My seventh bike, my new '06 B12S which currently has about 5000 miles on it since the middle of May, 2006.
Hey...the Bandit is lucky number 7 in my pantheon of street bikes.....if you include my brother-in-law's Cub (which I rode wayyyy more than he ever did anyway). There must be some kind of cosmic significance happening here, especially since my frame number ends in 7.......
