about the 620 ducati monster. I’m aware of past valve and maintenance issues that were bad on older versions, just really would like to here from u if you ride a bandit and have ridden a 03 an newer monster or ride with someone who has one. Really like the bandit but thinking of changing.

AFAIK, Ducati has changed nothing that would lead me to believe their bikes would require less maintenance. The air-cooled 2 & 3 valve heads are easier and cheaper to deal with than the 4-valve heads on the premium level models, but IMHO, a Duc should never be considered for the budget minded.
Unless you're riding a 250 Bandit, a 620 Monster is going to be a disappointment in the power department and probably not much of a step up in handling either since it's Ducati's budget bike.

I have a friend who owns a 999 and let's just say his service visits sometimes are almost equal to a Bandit purchase. (well not quite but you get the picture) He seems to have a lot of $700.00 service bills.
Lack of dealers, lack of parts and huge insurance costs would scare me away. I love the monster line, but about the only thing that would lean me towards a Ducati purchase would be a lottery win.
I remember reading a test ride where a couple of bike magazine riders took a Ducati ST 3 & St 4 on a long ride. The consensus with the rest of the magazine crew was... And your going to do this without a chase truck? Are you guys crazy?

No, don't go to Ducati! They're nice looking and all, but, just don't ok
