I know...love hate relationship for some.  Couldn't find the answer to this but has anyone tried using used engine oil?  I change my engine oil frequently and it got me thinking that perhaps I could recycle it for oiling the chain.

Any thoughts?

The amount of oil you'd get rid of in a properly used Loobman won't make a dent in your used oil supply....  I've was working on a quart of gear oil for a couple of years then switched to ATF and still have a lot of both left over.  I like the cleansing properties of ATF and not sure if used motor oil would provide that same action.  YMMV.
