engine vibration

i noticed a vibration on my bike about a year ago. i originally thought it was the hiway pegs i installed. it stayed at a consistantly low level until recently. about 400 miles ago i installed a barnett clutch. it was good  . a couple weeks ago the vibration got very noticeable above 3500rpm . i pulled the clutch and it looked fine. next i checked the motor mounts-both wore out. i replaced them and the vibration is about half gone. has anybody else experienced anything similar :?: thanks for your support :thanks:

Which size Bandit?
What motor mount(s) wore out?

it's a 97 1200, the front rubber/"eurothane" mounts are the ones that wore. as far as i can tell from the ron ayers website, they are the only soft mounts. also i just changed the plugs and the #2 plug was greyer than the others. maybe carb sync? :thanks:  :?:  :thanks:  :?:

Maybe. Or maybe #2 is in a little different condition than the others.

i had it running tonight and i noticed a sympathetic vib at around 3500revs. this was on the center stand in neutral. i rechecked the other mount bolts- aok- the S O B is driving me nuts. i have 49, 000 miles on it and this is the first issue i've had. if i keep it below 80 mph it's not really noticeable. but that isn't gonna happen. it's so sweet to cruise over a ton. (not that i've actually done that, just what i've heard  )

I did a couple of things to minimize vibration on mhy 2003 naked Bandit 1200.  First I made sure all the motor mounts were tight and to torque spec.

Then I carefully balanced the carbs.   I then installed Manic Salamander bar end weights to quell the vibration with very good effect.  Finally I went for a 16 tooth countershaft sprocket to drop the RPM a bit at highway speeds.  This had the added benefit of correcting most of the speedometer error.

I can ride at 70-75 MPH in relative comfort now and with minimal vibration, although I can still detect some if I'm not wearing gloves.

Sounds weird but I had my carbs sync-ed when i had the 600 valve adjustment done and believe it or not - the vibration actually got worse! I have issues with my right hand/wrist/lower arm but I am not on a mission to deal with these vibrations because I do really like this bike!

i had it (my bandit)out tonight and the buzzing got worse as it got warmer, i could even feel it at idle  after a little hiway burn it seemed to quiet a bit but was through more of the rev range. i think i'm going nucking futs
