A tragic accident happened last night. A motorcycle t-boned my parents last night. They were in a hilly area and driving at night. When they pulled out, they saw no traffic. As soon as he started out to turn, a sport bike came up on them seriously fast up onto the hill. He ended up hitting them with such an impact, that he busted out the rear window and bent the rear axle. He also hit with such impact that he also swung the car around. My dad tried to floor it when he saw the headlight, but there wasn't enough time. From what I have heard of it so far, it sounds like this guy was going way too fast for the conditions and enviroment.

Wow, he really plowed 'em hard if he spun them around.
How is everyone involved?

My folks are doing ok for the most part. The guy on the bike was taken in critiical condition.

Ooch...bad news...I hope everyone recovers OK.

+1 - though if the bike hit them that hard, he'll be a lucky guy if he recovers anywhere near "OK" - though since he lived thru the incident, I suppose he's at least got a chance.

+2! That doesn't sound great by any means.. Nothing worse for your parents than having it on their Conscience (even though it sounds they had no blame) Something like that must make you so nervous to be on the road especially the first few times after.
Still good luck to all health and claim wise

It is definitely a bad incident. I haven't talked to my mom yet, but it sounds like she is taking it a bit hard.
-
Tell your parents not to feel so bad about it. It's obviously another moron on the road.

I don't see any way the motorcyclist was going anywhere near the speed limit. When he decided to put the hammer down on that sport bike he took a chance. I sure don't wish anyone harm but it seems obvious he is to blame for the accident. I think most of us have driven fast and are old enough to know that we're rolling the dice a little bit. I hope the best for all parties involved.

I just found out that he didn't fly away from the bike. Apparently when he hit the car and swung it around, he stayed with the bike. I thought for sure that he would've done a superman and went flying. I am guessing by swinging the car around, it absorbed some of the impact.

I found out from my parents that the kid is o.k. He has a few broken ribs and a pin in his ankle. They had some worries about a possible internal injury, but it turned out o.k. How the heck he got out of it with such minor injuries considering the damage to the vehicles, I don't know. I also found out that he was on a Kawasaki sport bike. I still don't know what size bike yet.
