Motorcyclist Struck By Train
(Henrietta, NY) 10/21/05 -- A motorcyclist lost his arm following an accident involving a train on Friday in Henrietta.
Police said the college student crashed into the back of a car that was stopped at the Brooks Road Crossing in Henrietta.
The rider was thrown from the bike onto the railroad tracks and was struck by the train.

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday when he slid his cycle into the rear of a stopped SUV at a railroad crossing on Brooks Road in Henrietta at 10:50 a.m., then rolled on the ground and was struck by the passing train.
Monroe County sheriff's deputies were not releasing the man's name but said he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The train ran over one of his arms, deputies said.

How do you miss a stopped SUV at a train crossing, though?

All of the news reports on this incident are pretty sparse. I thought I saw one that said something to the effect that the rider was either not paying attention, or contemplating going around the stopped SUV.
His arm was severed...could have been his head. :duh:
