A motorcyclist that had been outpacing Department of Public Safety officers for the past three weeks was curbed Thursday, officials said.

Shaun Kent Robertson, 20, had been "taunting" officers on several occasions by using "hand gestures and slowing down before taking off at a high rate of speed" on Valley freeways, said Officer Frank Valenzuela, a DPS spokesman.

Robertson ditched his motorcycle near Tatum and Greenway roads about 4:30 p.m. after a DPS pursuit that reached speeds of up to 130 mph. Clothes and a chef uniform left behind led officers to a restaurant where Robertson worked.

He was later arrested on an unrelated warrant. Additional charges are pending.
