The one thing that I really like about the '06 is the tail section.  It doesn't look nearly as bulky as the previous models.

Congratulations nice looking red. Are you already thinking about a carburetor kit and performance muffler? I am glad I went with Ivan’s  jet kit on my 05. It was so easy required little tuning and has made the bike so smooth throughout the power  curve especially the beginning, no more dead spot only rush.
 :congrats:

Thanks guys, wait til you see the red when they start getting the 07's in the show room, the pictures don't show the depth...Hoping the weather clears up enough on Sunday so I can take it out for a few hours and get the feel of it

Ah, the memories. Enjoy. And speaking of an aftermarket exhaust, I've got my eye on a Yosh oval carbon fiber slipon with a two piece tip that is available in Europe at a ridiculous price. Hoping to see it over here by the spring which is when I want it. If you have a similar desires in mind keep me posted on what you find out.

The red is MUCH richer than the pictures show, it is just gorgeous when the sun hits it  Also the 07 red bikes come with black frame and fork legs, looks much nicer with the black IMO

Nice.  My local dealer's getting a black one in May.  I told him to order another black one towards the end of the cycle.  If it's still there next winter (I don't buy bikes when the dealership's doing good business . . . I like to hit 'em when they're hungry), its mine!

Nice -  :congrats:
Mine is still in the shop waiting for the roads to clear up. The red is really a nice colour, and much better in person, but the blue is pretty rich as well.
Maybe we will meet this summer.  A ride, say Banff to Jasper,or vice versa. Hwy 93 has some nice twisty bits.

I agree that the blue is a very nice color, I was 95% sure I was buying a blue one...but the red won me over in the end, probably because most of my bikes have been red  Yeah  hwy 93 is a nice road, I've enjoyed that ride a few times. I'm likely heading down to Nakusp in June then head down to San Diego, nice little 8 day ride in total

Way to go, Dreadnought !!! Looks great....although I may be a mite prejudiced.
Glad to see you went with the REAL Bandit we all know and love. :beers:
Say, guys, why don't we ALL spend 5 or 6 days riding our brains out on the Monashee (BC#6) and the Kaslo/New Denver (BC#31A) and the Creston/Kootenay Bay (BC#3A)
roads ???
I LOVE those roads. Here's a link to some pics from our Labour Day weekend camping trip over those very roads. Pure heaven.....

Hey Rick,
Nice pics...would be a fun weekend tououring around southern BC. Would you happen to have close up pics of your laminar lip? I wouldn't mind making one up myself and would like to see how you mounted yours.

Thanks

James: As I posted in one of the other forums on here, the Lip does what it's supposed to do......but only if you're ~5'9" or shorter. We taller guys get the remaining wind right in the face or top of the helmet, depending on how tall you are. It's a simple attachment method with really fancy 3M velcro pads and they even give you an extra set so you can put the lip on another bike if you want to......or if your original stock screen gets smacked and you need a new one. Sure I'll send you more pics if you like. Send me a PM with your email addy in it and I'll send 'em off to you ASAP.
Re: BC trip. The real trick is to take about 5 days minimum. That seems to work out the best, at least for me. I also want to tackle the Duffey Lake Road (BC#99) from Lillooet down to Pemberton this year. Buddies of mine have ridden it and say it's also very challenging. Evidently you may have to carry gas.....Well, we'll see what the summer holds in store....

The ride through Nacusp and New Denver is one of our favourites.
I'll attach a few photos from Sept. My son and I went just after the long weekend.  Awsome ride and no traffic to speak of.

on the ferry, the black bike is my old one that just became the 06 Bandit.

And what trip is complete without a stop at Timmy's

My son and I are always up for a trip. (If I ever get my bike out of the shop and on the road.) We are planning to trailer the bikes out to the west coast of the Island for a couple of weeks this summer. We have a campsite booked for Tofino in July.

Hey Dreadnought, I got a headlight protector for my K6. Fits really well. Suzuki NZ are doing deals in November with Yoshi cans - might check that out

Hey Dreadnought!

Sounds like the 06 and 07 are identical other than the drivetrain.  So I was just curious how you like the seat on your new bike?  Hope your lovin' the bike!  The red looks way better in your pics than in does in Suzuki's.  Sharp bike! :congrats:

James: I forgot to mention one thing you might want to check on your bike. The swingarm protector (black plastic piece bolted to swingarm) near the front on the drive side is a VERY poor molding, at least on my bike. It will NOT stay aligned properly with the chain because the top portion keeps wanting to spring outboard and thus out of alignment. I had to make up a tensioner gizmo out of an old spring clip from a Honda
airbox and figure out a fastening arrangement with a spacer.
It now holds the protector in the proper place so that the chain runs correctly on the protector. The chain is a LOT quieter now, as a bonus.

I love 'em, too!!! Went there last year! Click here for the story - with pics, of course. (http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=2107)

Sounds like a great idea, I'd love to ride 'em again (and again, and again...) but for me, it'll have to wait until after the snow thaws since I'm still over here in the land of frogs.

Paul: Great writeup and pics, although I'm wondering about the lack of description of the GREAT riding on the BC3A from Creston alongside the lake up to the Kootenay Bay ferry. That is my second all-time favourite riding road....unless you were caught up in a bunch of cages, which CAN happen on there.
Too bad you turned south at Balfour after you got off the ferry. BC31 that goes north from Balfour to Kaslo is fantastic for the first half or so.....and then you get a "decompression" stretch for the last part on into Kaslo. Then out of Kaslo is the fabulous BC31A with new pavement in the middle third just this year, fairly new pavement on the west third and old pavement badly needing replacement on the east third....but still a fantastic ride overall.
This road was voted Canada's best riding road by a poll in some bike mag this past year....and it certainly deserves the title, IMO.
I will definitely be on all of those roads again next year. See you at the Toad Rock motorcycle campground on BC31!!!
.....if you escape from Frogland, that is!!!
Hey, I just noticed....toads....frogs....is there some kind of weird synergy or something happening here ???

Yes you are missing the wife, three dogs, two kayaks, and two surf boards, and all the gear for a two week stay.  The trailer is a compromise to keep piece in the family, and do some awsome riding along the way.

OK, greyhound....I've got it now.....and, having been married to the same gal for 34+ years I can completely understand.
Well, you'll still get to ride all the roads on the island one way or another.....
